I stopped by Petsmart today to pick up cat food (and a new cat bed, and treats, and toys. . . ). As I walked by the adoption center, there was a woman cooing through the glass at a HUGE orange boy. His name was Vladimir, and he had been abandoned by his owner.
Well, I had to coo at him too. He appeared to have a lot of Maine Coon in him--just a big handsome fella. And he looked so sad to be stuck in that room.
While the woman and I were talking about what a sweetie he was and about cat rescue work, a young couple came by to look at the kitties. They went into the adoption room and picked up Vladimir, and it was obviously love at first hug. The young woman sat on the floor with this big kitty just sprawled across her lap, soaking up belly rubs and chin scritchies.
When I left, they were filling out the paperwork. Merry Christmas and happy new home, Vladimir! :D
