View Full Version : I demand an apology

Dear Momcat and Dadcat: I have come here to PetTalk to demand a formal apology from you. For months now you have accused me of being the one who was peeing in the kitchen sink. My protests of innocence have fallen on deaf ears. You know that I am too much of a lady to do such a thing. Only a nawtee (hint hint) kitty would pee in the sink.
Well, last night, the truth finally came out. Right in the middle of your dinner party, Pepper jumped up on the kitchen counter, which is a big no no. Then, she squatted in the sink and peed! Everyone at the party saw it. I could tell by their looks of disgust that Pepper was in trouble.
Yet, still no apology from you. No extra cuddles, no special treats – no nothing! This sad episode has caused me to seriously doubt whether I adopted the right family. Tap, tap, tap – I’m waiting…..
Impatiently Yours, Cammie

Dear PetTalkers – I have to plead ignorance. How was I supposed to know that peeing in the sink isn’t ladylike behavior? I was just trying to make the garbage disposal smell better. I was concerned that our guest’s dining experience would be interrupted by a foul odor. I helped, didn’t I?
Helpfully Yours, Pepper

OH MY GOODNESS!   Peeing in the KITCHEN sink during a dinner party?  But now you know who is doing it and you can start to encourage her to "go" elsewhere.. I have never heard of a cat peeing in ANY sink! That is so unusual!

Oh no! What a shocking moment! I hope the guests were cat lovers!
I think an appology is in order to sweet Cammie... and Pepper needs to go to her room and think about what she has done wrong! :D

I don't blame you Cammie! You should demand an apology, or maybe get even and join Pepper in fragrancing that sink! :o :o :o Don't worry Pepper...there's a resident Bad Girl here too! Sweet Pea stays mostly in the bedroom because she's more nawtee than you!

Dear Princess Cammie Cat: Please accept our long overdue apology. We were wrong to have suspected you of such bad behavior. Please forgive us. Your Dadcat and I are planning to serve you your favorite dinner tonight. There will be minced turkey lunch meat and cheddar cheese for you. All for you. Pepper is on bread and water until she learns better manners. Please accept our apology. And continue to let us live with you in your home. We promise to continue to wait on you hand and foot. Thank you for adopting us!
Sincerely Yours, Momcat and Dadcat

LOL.. That is too funny. Blacky, my old cat would go in the bathtub. Right room, wrong place.
Were the guests cat people?

Oh sweet Cammie....that's just unfair for your hooman family to accuse you of doing such a dastardly deed. On the other hand, they have apologized to you and if you play your cards right you can get extra treats. ;)

Sigh, not so unusual around here! We keep the bathroom doors closed all the time and a cover on the kitchen sink. Onyx will pee in the tub or the sink any time given half a chance!
Enjoy your turkey, Cammie!

Poor Cammie- I'm sure Momcat and Dadcat are very very sorry. You deserve some extra loving for all of that indignity!
PEPPER! Thank you for trying to help but you MUST use the litter box!

It is only a phase....at least it was for Edwina. She would pee in the powder room sink. We were trying to sell the house. These horrid people (who did buy it!) were the only ones who almost saw it. Fortunately, our realtor, a friend and animal lover, grabbed her out of the sink...and made some statement about silly cats love cool places to lie in.....

Miss Cammie thanks you for your love and support. She loved her dinner and has almost forgiven us.
Unfortunately, our dinner guests were not cat lovers. They have German Shepherds and made a point later in the evening to mention how well behaved their dogs are. They are, that's true but I think they were making a point.
The kitchen sink was empty at the time. Last night we plugged up the sink and added a couple of capfuls of amonia. Over that we put a dry paper towel. This morning the towel was still dry. So, it looks like Pepper didn't "feel the need" last night. We will probably do this for a while in hopes of breaking Pepper's habit. Hopefully, the amonia fumes will keep her a way.

OMG, this is so funny!!! Poor Cammie, I hope you're feeling better now after you've got your apology! It's true, it's very hurtful being accused of something you haven't done at all!
LOL, sounds like your dinner guests are typical dog persons and have no understanding of a very special feline purrsonality! ;)

We spent Christmas Eve at my sister's. We were gone for 6 hours. When we got home, Miss Pepper tried her trick again. She peed on the paper towel in the sink. The good news is that there was no blood or anything to indicate a UTI. She's just a nawtee girl.
I know a lot of you disagree with us, but being on the kitchen counters or tables is not acceptable in our house. It was never an issue with Halo. When Cammie adopted us, it took just a few episodes to change her behavior. When we'd catch her up there, we'd yell 'NO' really loud and clap our hands. Poor girl knew she was doing something wrong, but wasn't sure what. So we'd take her down. She wanted to please us so much that she quickly learned.
Pepper doesn't care whether she pleases us or not! She knows she's so adorable that we'll love her anyway. Really, we are just hopeless. When she does something nawtee, we usually end up laughing. She is so spoiled! :D

Well, I don't mean to scare you, but if she continues doing that, I think it's better bring a urine sample to the vet and have it tested, just to be on the safer side. There doesn't have to be blood or other indications for UTI, but still, it can be one. Been through the same with Luna in the past. Everyone thought she was just naughty and then it turned out she had struvite crystals that's been bothering her.
Hope everything's alright with Pepper! :)

Oh my!!! I had to laugh when I read of Pepper's transgressions!! I bet you could have died when you saw that with people over!!!
Cammie....you've been wrongly accused. What type of wonderful and lavish present do you fee would be appropriate to compensate?? Diamonds?? ;)
Well, I'm glad the correct culprit was found out. Do you think she just prefers something more "clean" than a litter box? Has she seen the toilet yet?? ;)
