Callie is my favorite girl. She came to me at a time in my life when I needed her the most. At the time, Shadow and Whisper were with my parents because the rooommate I had was allergic. Anyway, March of 2000 my father died of a massive heart attack one week before I was to come home for spring break. Out of everyone, I took it the worst..I was daddy's little girl and he was my best friend in all this world.

When he died, I was suicidal for several weeks and extremely depressed. I should have gone to talk to someone at that time, but didn't...no one could handle my extreme emotional state so all I did was stay in my room and cry. About two months after his death, my boyfriend (now husband) came home with this little orange fluff that he had found on the side of the road after someone in front of him threw it out their car. That orange fluff ended up being my nawteest, loudest, most obnoxious little girl Callie.

I feel to this day that my father sent her to save me. I always call her my little angel girl because she eased some of the pain I had in my heart. She's not the most loving, lap cat but when she does want attention it is an absolute dream come true. She is queen of the house, despite the fact she is two years younger than her siblings. She gets everything she wants, whenever she wants it..but I love her so. Here are some not so great pictures of my nawtee goat girl:

Oh My Goodness it's a nawtee little orange girl!!! It doesn't get any better than that! She is GORGEOUS and she sounds like such a fun girl.
I love the story of how she came to you. I have to agree that she was a gift sent from heaven from your dad. It's wonderful that your then boyfriend stopped to pick her up too. That was so sweet and it was all meant to be.
I'm sorry about your dad but I sure think he must have been wonderful because he knew how to help heal your broken heart. Nothing heals faster than laughter and I have a feeling that Callie provided lots of that.:) :) :)

What a beautiful kitty......and to be an orangie girl! That's pretty special.

Your story breaks my heart. I was Daddy's little girl too (in fact, I still am) and when he passed in 1995 I was devastated. Just what is it about Daddys and daughters???
