Tubby & Peanut's Mom

Peanut has taken to sitting under her "heat lamp" quite often these days. I really think she like to sit up here because of the heat from the light. If we turn the light off, it's not too long before she leaves, so we have learned not to turn the light off - yep, we're easily trainable. ;) I've been mentioning the "heat lamp" on and off lately, so I thought I'd show you all just what I was talking about. We've started callin her our little ham because you know how when you go to a buffet they always have the ham warming under a heat lamp? Well, that's what we have. Every once-in-awhile she'll go downstairs and get a drink, and we say she's basting herself because then she comes back up under the heat lamp. Such a goofy little girl.
So without further ado, here's our little ham bone.

Royal ham bone to you, thank you very much! ;)

She must have been getting too dried out tonight, and everyone knows ham is no good when it's dry, so she decided to move to the couch next to me tonight instead of under the heat lamp. She's such a sweetie. :)

Too funny Kim!
I knew a cat who would sit under the lamp. His owner referred to it as his "sunlamp." He would put his head right under the shade!

My Dear Precious Peanut:
You are such a Princess and I would never, ever call you a Roasted Peanut. It's just not fitting.
I think that "Honey Ham" would be much more to your liking. What do you think?
Kisses to you sweetheart.

I think she's doing ok, although last night and this moring she was the most vocal I have ever heard her. We were upstairs in the loft and she went downstairs and was just walking around meowing her fool head off, and not her usual sweet little squeeks, but real meows, sometimes quite loud. I would call to her to let her know we were upstairs, she wouldn't answer but the next thing you know she'd be meowing again. Finally she came back up and settled on the couch between us. Which I have to say is highly unusual for her. Whenever we were upstairs she was either in her little bed or, lately, under the heat lamp. She did sleep with me for awhile last night, but I was a bit restless so I think I scared her off. She is still eating good and everything, I think it's just finally sinking in to her that Tubby is gone. :( Oh, and also, Monday Terry was home all day but yesterday and today he is on the road, so it might be that she was alone all day yesterday - and will be today again too. Terry will be home tomorrow and Friday and then we'll hit the road for vacation, otherwise I would really start to worry about her being alone so much.
She is still being her goofy self and digging in the comforter on the bed and being goofy in her newest box, but it's this walking around and meowing that has me worried. :(

Boomer did that too, for the first couple of days after Beans was gone (the walking around loudly meowing part) :(
I'm convinced they mourn just like we do - each in their own way. I saw how my remaining 4 furbabies each handled Beans not being here anymore very differently.
The Felieway diffuser helped, especially Jade, a lot.

Sweet Peanut girl- I know you miss your big brother. Even if you have not been too snuggly with him you loved him- that' s as it is among siblings.
I hope you get enough warmth under the lamp ( we call it a kitty solarium;) ) and be sure: your purrents love you to pieces and will never leave you alone:)

Peanut, you look so sweet there, under your own little sun - gotta keep warm and comfy. :)
Fister is under his own little sun every afternoon, next to John's computer - we can almost tell the time. :D
I'm sure Peanut misses Tubby, even if she did swat him when he got close. In due time, I think she'll enjoy a new companion, so she doesn't get too bored. :)
Kisses and scritchies from us.

Sweet Peanut . . . I hate that she's so sad, but I understand how she would be.
Brodie & Josie do that loud meowing when they're looking for each other . . . I just picture Peanut looking for Tubby, calling for him and it breaks my heart.
I am sure she's getting an extra dose of attention . . . she needs it and so you do you and your hubby!
Sweet Peanut . . . Honey baked peanuts are so yummy! ;) Give that baby girl some kisses from me!!!
And {{{Hugs}}} to you!

Aww! Sweet heat-seeking honey-roasted Peanut, the little ham bone! :D It does sound like she's calling out for Tubby and probably misses him, even though they weren't snuggle buddies. Poor sweet thing. It does get easier
