For "my" Christmas present this year I thought I would buy myself that new vaccuum cleaner/floor cleaner called the "Flip-it" by Bissell. Got my handy coupon and off to the store. Apparently they are a hot item this year because they were out of stock. Ok, so they took my name and called me when their new shipment came in. Brought it home, Tim set it up and I, in a weak, very weak moment   was happily cleaning my floors.

That was last Thursday, now that I've had it over the weekend and played with it, I've come to discover that it really doesn't pick up cat litter all that well :( and Tim didn't like the mechanic's of it. Both the dirt (cat litter) and wet dirt go into the same place, making it quite the mess when it comes time to dump it. Think lots of litter with a little water..... turns to sticky yucky clay!!

Needless to say, I will be returning my Christmas present this year :(

Why can't they come out with something that really works???!!!!

(it needs to be tested by cat people! :p )

Ah, another vaccuum skeptic! I swear, I just buy a 'decent' vaccuum, and know that every 3-4 years, it needs to be replaced.

The expensive, the specialty kind, the cannister kind, the bagless....blah. Short of a Kirby shop vac....none of them make any difference in my house.

Dyson just came out with one specifically engineered for animal hair/dander. I just may have to save up and get that one.

Is it possible to return a gift after having used it?? Do you get a full refund?
You are so right: cats are excellent testers ;)

Return? LOL! I have 2 kennels to return and one is rather used unless I decide to go ahead and keep one of them.

This will TOTALLY ruin my image....but....I got one of those Dyson especially for pet hair....and I canNOT rave about it enough. The amount of cat hair it picks up......unbelievable!!! Expensive but worth it!

I bought the Kärcher DS 5500 water filter HEPA vacuum a couple of months ago, and I absolutely love it.

Never have my carpets looked this clean and it sucks up everything - from cat hair to cat litter in the bathroom, and everything in between.

I just pour out the dirty water when done, and solid things like hair and litter clut (SP?) together at one end behind "a wall" in the container, and are easy to throw out as well.

:D :D :D

Actually we just hired a cleaning lady! But I'm one of those PITA's that have to clean inbetween!! :D

Before I actually bought the vaccuum I asked them if it didn't work on cat hair if I could bring it back, they said "yes". I always do that just to cover me!!

It's good to hear about that Dyson, I was thinking about that too, but the $$$ was a little to steep for me.

I went and got a Swiffer Wet-Jet, and between that and my tank vaccuum, I think I will be happy. Now if I can just figure out where that sprayer is, and quit spraying Yoshi!! He is my helper :p :p after I put it together and played with it, I accidentally sprayed him!  He wasn't too happy, but continued to help!
