Hello!
I have 6 gerbils (Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Damien, Manuel and Basil) and I would love to get them something for Christmas as a treat.
My question is, what is something that gerbils really enjoy that would make a good present for my little boys.
Thanks!

Probably an UNSPRAYED piece of wood to chew on, or you can buy little fruit packs at the pet store, especially for gerbils. :) Good luck!
you can also make a cake, I made my boys one for their birthday, its 3 slices of bannana, and peanut butter, and some gerbil food for sprinkles. you put some PB on the first bannana slice, then put the second on top, then put PB on that one, then the third slice on tope, then a dab of PB on the top and sprinkled with gerbil food. my boys LOVED it. :D

Peanut butter on a cracker with sesame seeds on top? ... it's not red and green, but they'll enjoy it, then spend some time getting the peanut butter of their whiskers!

Hello,
Thanks so much for the suggestions. I am going to try the peanut butter/banana cake. I like they idea of giving it to the boys when we are eating our Christmas turkey so they can have a feast too.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Try a small salt lick. It is good for their health and they have something to do. All animals need salt.:)

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't say it because it's been a while since I owned gerbils or any small rodents. Ya never know when things like that changed :p

Hi again!
As a pre Christmas treat, I gave the gerbils some peanut butter on crackers.
We have the gerbils in 3 separate cages. Basil and Manuel, who are brothers, LOVED the pb and crackers. And it was very cute to see them trying to clean up after eating.
Theodore and Damien, who are also brothers, also enjoyed the treat, although they weren't quite as eager.
Alvin and Simon, however, turned their noses up and refused! Basil and Manuel were quite pleased about this as they got Alvin and Simon's share as well as their own.
Thanks so much for the suggestions, and Happy Holidays to everyone and their animals.
Louise
