Well tomorrow is the big day,, We are meeting Jean Luc for the first time and will be taking our 2 babies to meet him as well..for those of you who dont know Jean Luc.. he is a purebred 1 yr old Dobie who desperately needs a home after being left by his mommy for a new condo... stupid reason #4 of the top 10 reasons..:( He is apparantly still very upset over losing his mommy and his family so his foster mommy is telling us it will take some time to adjust for him to ours.... I just hope my kids get along with him and vice Versa. I will admit,, I am VERY nervous about potential doggie fights,, always been a big fear of mine,, but with hubby at home,, it should be okay with us 2 being here to take care of any problems....... providing the meeting goes okay,,,
Put yer paws together for us that it goes well.. please!!!! I am feeling very shaky because I would LOVE the have this wonderful Dobie boy!!!

Having them meet on neutral ground is a great idea. The other thing I found is that if I'm nervous the dogs don't get along as well. We go into it with the idea that it "Will Work" and that we expect them to behave.
When my sister came back with her four dogs we let ours out one at a time in the back yard to meet hers. We had one little incident and we let Max know that it was not acceptable to act that way. They stayed 10 days and we had NO fights. Really surprised us all, but we never let the dogs think we expected any difference.
Sounds dumb, but I think they picked up on our vibes and it worked.
I'm really excited for you. This is so great!!

there is a thread on that,, I dunno how to link to it,, so here was my reply... oh,, supposed to see him again this wednesday..
Met him!!!
Well... JL is a TOTAL SWEETHEART!!!! He grumbled and rumbled a bit when we met him one at a time,, I leaned down rubbed under his chin and kissed his nose and told him he didnt scare me!
Took him only @ 10 mins to warm up to us,, esp me.. he was very sweet.... has to gain a few pounds,, he is tall,,,, probably will be @ 90 to 100 lbs at his top shape... he has a long ears,,, tiny lil docked tail and he barked like crazy as did our kids at eachother!! Lucy settled alot faster as he did with the other,, but Merlin,,, well lets just say his bark could shatter glass!! It took a full half hour of walking him back and forth to and from the fence before either settled...they had a chance to bite at eachother,, but neither did,, just alot of barking.... overall,, it went fabo!!!
We will have another visit this week with the kids and him,, and if it all still a go,,, which it looks as if it is,,,, he will come home with us this coming Saturday!!!!!!!! I brought the camera,, but we were so invloved in meeting and chatting and watching the kids,, I didnt snap one friggin pic!!! I am SO sorry ladies and Gents,,, I PROMISE to take some when we go again....
