My little cousin Samantha woke up around 4AM on Thursday morning and said she couldn't breathe :(

They brang her to the children's hospital and they said she had an asthma attack.

The nurses asked her mom if she has been giving her her puffers every 6 hours(like shes suposed to, we do at our house) and her mom said she hasn't been and that she goes MONTHS without them

She missed the Santa parade today :( I got some candy from the parade for her and also got some pictures.

Yesterday I went to see her, and took some pictures of her, because she loves to have her picture taken!

Here she is:

She had to wear the mask alot last night, her oxygen seems to be the lowest when she sleeps, whenever it goes lower than 90 then she has to put her mask on, it usually stays at 94-97 all day but at night it goes down to 81-89.

I hope she gets to come home soon!

Being in the hospital is no fun, but neither is a bad asthma attack. Someone needs to explain to her mother that some of the inhalers are long-term preventative inhalers. They have to be used every day to be effective. I know, I do two puffs every morning of my Azmacort, then rinse my mouth out. It's annoying, but not as annoying as a hospital stay! Only the albuterol has any immediate effect, the other NEED to be done all the time!

Samatha's doctor needs to drum that into her mom's head.

I know :( The worse part is that Samantha doesn't mind taking them AT ALL, and she even has to tell her mom when she NEEDS her puffers, or ask for them, and that's wrong.

Her mom barely has her anyway, she's with me more than she's with her mom, and when we bring her home, her mom brings her to another baby-sitters house for a few nights...until she calls to come back to our house...sad!

Samantha is comming home tomorrow!!!! :D :D

A bit earlier she called me from her phone in her isolation room and told me she was comming home tomorrow :D

By the way, "HOME" means OUR house, which is where she THINKS shes comming to, but she's really going to her OWN home ;)
