Wow, I’m behind! I have yet to post about my most recent foster who is no longer all that recent. :o

My mother and I fostered a single bottle baby this summer before and during my internship. He was found at a skate park by my friend’s younger brother. I doubt he was truly abandoned but it is probably better that he grew up with people and can be a tame housecat instead of a feral. After I got the phone call, we drove to pick him up. They had been giving him cow’s milk and so he was a bit sickie. :( We immediately started him on formula and he started firming up. ;)

My mother and I hadn’t fostered bottle babies for years so I PMed Aly with all my questions. THANKS ALY! :D Poor thing endured numerous baths with lemon Dawn to rid him of his fleas.

We called him Burrito George. Burrito because we always wrapped him in a little towel to feed him since he would knead us with sharp little kitten nails and George just because it’s a cute name. :p

It was really hard to leave him when I went to the Big Island for my internship. I only know the handsome grown up George from pictures and my Mom only took TWO! *cries* But everything worked out so well because my Mom had a constant companion during recovery from knee surgery. She really enjoyed George and helped him grow into a most handsome little man.

When he was finally two pounds we took him to our local humane society where he was quickly adopted. After all, who could resist his darling FACE!

Omg what a CUTIE!!!! :D
What color is he exactly? In some pics he looks like he's chocolate/white... and in others he looks like he's black/white... Well anyway, he's adorable!! :D I'm glad he found a home! :)

His coat changed color actually….it originally had a brown tinge but he ended up being a rich, dark grey, not black. His tabby markings also faded some as his coat darkened. I’m mostly going by the pictures since I didn’t see him at 8 weeks, but the brown tinge definitely faded in the time that I knew him. The dull brown shade may have been the result of poor nutrition, or at least that is my theory since his color started to change after a few days on kitten formula. I also think he may have been the runt of the litter, which would explain why he received inferior nutrition.

I’m so glad he found a home too!!! :D Ecstatic, really. :)

He's so sweet- and if he's grey he may grow into a sleek grey tuxie guy just like Lucky:D - but at the moment he is still MUCH smaller.

I am so happy he found a good home and I love his name:)

He's quite a looker! It's so wonderful you nursed him to health. I see you are a 'future veterinarian.' Congrats! It sounds like you are well on your way and will make a wonderful vet.

What a little sweetie, and what good luck for all involved. Your mother got an adorable little companian and Burrito George got the best foster home possible. He sure is a cutie and I'm sure he has now grown into quite a handsome young man. :D
