Willow is missing. . .

I went out to check on the ducks this morning and Willow was missing. . I looked EVERYWHERE I could think of and there is no sign of her anywhere.

There aren't any feathers anywhere that might have fallen out if a smaller animal tried to take her. So we are thinking maybe a mountainlion took her:(

Gizmo is really quiet today, the Mallards and Gizzy seem to sense somethings wrong, it just not the same around here anymore. Gizmo usually honks when he hears your voice and he hasn't so much as squeaked, his weird little squeak :p

I hope nothing took her and that she just wandered off. She couldn't have flew away because she is a Pekin and they are a breed of duck that can't fly. If something did take her, I am surprised they didn't take one of the other ducks, because the other ducks are darker in color, and she is white as can be and blends in with the snow. .

I thought I would post some pics of her, in her memory. I hope you come home soon Willow, we all miss you!

We looked again today for her, but no luck. I saw a path from the ducks house to a piece of machinery, I looked under it, and I didn't see anything, I was hoping she would be under there, but I didnt see her. . I hope your ok Willow!:(

I dont think it is possible that someone stole them, we live about 1/2 mile off the highway and they are not right in the yard, but out where the horses are.

:eek: Another one of the ducks is missing!! I went out to feed the horses and only 2 of the ducks were out there. I am going to look for the other Mallard tomorrow in the daylight, I couldn't see very well. I hope he is ok.

What is up with this? Some animal most be taking them, it couldn't be Maggie because she wouldn't eat them even though she is a lab, my dad thinks maybe and owl, or mountain lion?:o

Bad news.

My dad went out to look for the ducks this morning and he found Romeo, he had died in his sleep, or froze? He thought Maggie had killed him because she was standing over him when he went out there. When we got home my dad told us what happened and I was furious because I thought Maggie had killed him. We went out to check for any puncture wounds and there wasn't any , so he must have died from natural causes or froze.

We have not found Willow yet, my sister followed some tracks and they lead to the shed in our yard (underneath it), once again it was dark out so I couldn't see her, I will have to check when I get time, hopefully tomorrow. :o

Is there somewhere you can put the other ducks until you find out what is taking them? That is so sad and I bet the ones left are so scared.

We dont really have a place to put them, they have a house and stuff, but my dad won't let us put them in the big shed becuase there is no room for them, but they do have a nice shelter..

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that :( I hear of people's ducks and geese getting taken by animals a lot on the pet duck group yahoo group I go to. It breaks my heart :( Let's just hope she wandered a little to far and is on her way home right now..
