 My dad wanted a Ferret for Christmas. He pointed out the one he wanted but his wife won't let have. We had gone to atleast 3 pet stores but STILL he wanted this one ferret! So I left early and went by and bought him the ferret, cage, and accessories! Mind you that my father lives 2 hours away so transporting the ferret wasn't easy. I am hiding it at my house until closer to christmas.
I get home with ferret and put it on high table. The dogs ignored it for awhile. However, I decided to introduce her to them so they will know what it is. I put her on the Pool table where the cat was sitting as well. She's declawed and wouldn't hurt her. The ferret got playful. While it was playing it slipped and fell off the pool table BEFORE I could catch it!!!
Scooby tackled it!!! He and the other 2 dogs started chasing it under furniture and around the house. I had to DIVE under the dining room table to grab the ferret out of Scooby's mouth!!! The ferret was biting me:mad:  I screamed at the Dogs soo loud they got scared! (Scared me too!)
I held the poor little ferret for a little while to calm it down. She was shaking. I was about to cry! I spent over $200 for this present just to watch it get eaten!!! I was so mad at Scooby. Shaggy and Benji were just barking and watching. Scooby was the one trying to eat!!! :(
The good news: The ferret is OKAY!!! A little shaken and a stirred. She is now located in a separate bedroom with a door so they can't get in. Scooby was scared of me for a few hours. He wouldn't come near me and knew he'd done wrong. It is his natural reaction but boy was I NOT happy!!!
Oh, yeah and NOW the ferret has a name: Measly Weasle! Measly for short. I am getting kind of attached to her. (I am already trying to leash train!) My dad may have to visit the ferret HERE!;)
Thought this was a funny story to share! Scooby and the rest of the gang will be slowly introduced to each other but With Measly INSIDE the cage!!!

It sounds like you had a wild time at your house for awhile. Glad to hear everyone is alright. The other day my daughter in law had taken off her wedding band & left it on the table. They have Max a Black lab pup about 5 months old. Well, she went to put her wedding band on after her shower. It was gone!!! I told her I caught Max running around with a bell in his mouth at my house the other day & figured he had gulped down the wedding band. I spent the night thinking of having to dig through dog poop to find that ring.:( Well to make a long story short my son found the wedding band under the table on the kitchen floor:D What we don't go through in life with our pets:p

it's too funny not to tell even if told before.

My neighbor is into bread making. She made up two loaves, and placed them on the counter to "rise". She went outside, and her half black lab/half collie decided to partake. The dog ate both loaves of raw bread. That night the dog started to vomit, and they had a few messes to clean up.

The next morning the dog went in to one of the son's bedrooms to wake the boy up as usual. She went to jump up on the bed, and fell over backwards. They noticed the dog was sort of uncoordinated in its walking.

Basically what had happened was the yeast in the bread dough had continued to ferment in the dog's stomach producing alcohol, resulting in a drunk dog the next morning. It had to spend the day at the Vets on IV drips.

Now when the dog does something stupid the neighbor remarks it's the after effects of all of that alcohol on the brain. ;)

P.S. Good luck to the ferret.

This pup of my sons is something else. He also got into a bag of bread. My daughter in law came home with some groceries. She left the car door open & their cat got into a loaf of bread in the car & was eating it. My daughter in law bought the rest of the groceries in the house along with the loaf of bread chewed on by the cat, & put the loaf on the kitchen table. The pup usually lays on his rug in the kitchen & my daughter in law left the room & came back & found the pup finishing off the loaf of bread. The pup is a black lab & I think he is crossed with a kangeroo. The dog that ate that raw bread dough must of really been in bad shape to end up with IV's. How is the ferret training coming along dragondawg?:)
