My son came in from out of town and was asking me a question about his dog. Unfortunately I can't answer this. He ownes a Matiff/Pit Bull mix and he says that his nose is always dry and very flakyl. I'm guessing its an allergy. Any insight on this? I suggested taking him to a vet, but since money is tight I guess he's trying to find an alteranative. Any ideas what he can put on his nose so it wouldn't be so flaky?
Thank you.

My dog Bob has a pink nose. That gets flaky & sore when he is outdoors. I use Vanicream on his nose & it helps. Vanicream can be purchased at your local drug store. I use it myself for my hands & face.

he might have a tear duct problem that affects that. Tia's Rb brither and my grandpa's Cocker spaniel both had that problem and they always have a dry, flaky nose. My Grandpa put's vaseline on his Cocker's nose every day, sometimes twice a day and that seems to help a bit. On Tia's Brother, the vet reccomended us to get a bottle of Vitamin E and poke the pill with a pin so that the jiuce stuff would come out and then you just squeeze it on to the dogs nose. I think he should go to the vet about it though:)
