i have a kitty that is originally an indoor cat. When i first got her she was an indoor cat and was until she was a year old. last summer we got a roommate and as the result he didn't care to close the porch door and she ran out and kept on running out when he left the house.(the inconsiderate roommate is gone now)
If i don't let her outside anymore will she stop attempting to go?

Yes. She will eventually forget about going outside and will be quite content to hang out at an open window to sniff the breezes now and then. You probably know that keeping her in is for her own good. SHE might not realize that at first, but if you are firm and stick to your guns she will eventually forget about sneaking out. Good luck, she is a cutie! But I'm quite partial to the blackies of the world. ;) :D

Yes, in time she will be just as happy, and much safer, indoors!
Your kitty is very pretty ... welcome to PT!;)

I thought so, that she would eventually giveup. But till then i guess i have to deal with her meowing at me when i'm at the door.:)
it's funny too cause when i say 'get out' of the porch she knows what i mean but meows right back at me as though she's saying no, and even hisses. but she gives up and gets out.

Yes she will eventually forget. Akira has switched between all the various options in the past few years. Cleo has always been an indoor cat with this one exception.
The most significant change was when i sent her to my parents in Saskatchewan this summer. They went form indoor cats to outdoor cats back to indoor.
My mom is allergic so they lived in a garage at our rental house 3 doors down. After a couple of weeks they opened the door so they could come and go as they pleased.
They loved it.
When My parents brought them back to me they had to stay inside. I was given the cold shoulder especially from Akira. Partially because she was mad about being inside and partially because she hadn't seen me in 4 months.
She got over it and dosn't even try te escape. I think I'll send them again next summer :D

The Found Cats, all used to go out,but now that I have stopped them, for thier own safety, they dont seem,to miss it,although the Princess, will still beg,at the window!Just keep her in and amused, and she should be all right!!
