YAY! Peanut pics (My degu) :) Plus pics of my tortoise, and hedgies

I finally downloaded my driver for my digital camera onto this computer so now I can post more pics of my gang. Peanut is my newest addition to the household. He is a degu. He is a splended little boy and next week we will be getting him a friend. :) He has got to be the tamest degu I've had. He is pretty spoiled. Right now he is in the bathroom running around with the hedgehogs. He absolutely LOVES his wheel and is on it day and night. I just picked up the hedgies wheel too so everyone is pretty happy.

And great news! We're adding a THIRD hedgehog to the family! :D His name is Spike and he belongs to my friend Ryan, but with school and work Ryan can't find the time to care for him anymore, so he is coming to live with my two. I am so excited to have him come here as he is one of the sweetest laid back hedgies I've met.

I also woke up Lucy from Hybernation so I have two pics of him too. I gotta soak him here in a bit to make sure he stays hydrated. :) I'll try to get pics of everyone else soon too. For now, I will start off with Peanuts pics. Hope you like them!

Now for Lucy pics! I had to wake him up and check on him so I gave him a bit to eat. I decided to take a couple pictures since I don't really have any recent ones of him, although he never changes LOL. :o

Oh and if you look at his leg he is fighting a fungal infection right now. :( So any prayers would be great. I've had him for ten years so whenever he is sick I feel awful, as I am sure he does!

Time for the hedgies! While they were at my friend in Portland they didn't get the best of care so I have been giving them canned cat food to make them gain some weight. These pictures were taken in the bathroom. That is where they get their play time. :)

Great pictures! Peanut is so adorable! I never knew what a degu was until you started talking about him! I'll keep my fingers crossed for Lucy to get better soon! Speedy and Flower look like they enjoyed the cat food. :) Is cat food a special treat for them?

The Canned food is. Their regular food consists of dry cat kibble (Nutro and Chicken Soup mixed), as well as fresh fruits and veggies and insects such as mealworms, waxworms and dried crickets. :) The canned food is just a special little treat to help them gain weight. They also get other treats. For instance the other night, they had salmon skin. They love fish!

Thanks! :D Yes he still hybernates. I have to soak him every few weeks in order to make sure that he is completely hydrated. Plus it's a must to make sure they do not aquire any respiratory infections, which they are very prone to.

I don't have too much hands on experience w/ hedgies, but from what I hear they are usually a little tough to handle, you must be great with them to handle them that much & no poofs.

I've always wanted one but that reason has kept me from getting one.

Well I've had them since they were both babies, so they are super tame. They get handled every day so are very much used to being handled. They also do pretty well with the camera too. :)
