How exciting!!!!!
I found out yesterday that there is going to be a dog park about 2 miles from my house. It's still in the planning stages, but the land is there and approved for the dog park. I'm guessing that is probably one of the toughest things to get something like this off the ground.
I signed up to be on the comittee--go to meetings, help with fundraisers, publicity and anything else I can. Right now they're in the process of raising money for fencing. It's a 3 acre park, and there are 2 phases of development, with the first including fencing, water, benches, and a few other things. Phase 2 will include a pavilion, more fenced areas, agility equipment and other things.
I've never actually been to a dog park. I would love any advice or tips on fundrasing for this type of project, and some insight on how your local dog park operates.
I can't wait to go to my first meeting--I want to go with a bunch of ideas for everyone, and I would love your input!!
