Last term my daughter took a newspaper article to her school counsellor to see if her school could raise funds for The Human Alternative, a cat rescue, that my daughter volunteers for.

Unfortunately it is not going to happen, but they have decided to raise funds for the local SPCA, (they are a registered charity)whereas maybe the other is not, so perhaps they were unable to do so, I do hope that my daughters suggestion helped inspire them to go ahead with this.

It's all good, every child will beable to wear mufti for a gold coin donation, which is either one dollar or two dollars, most kids enjoy being able to cast aside their uniform for oneday, so the amount raised should be pretty good.

Yeah more funds to help those poor kitties and doggies.

What a clever idea! I hope they raise lots of money for the cats. I'll see if anyone in my rescue group has kids that have to wear uniforms and steal this idea.:)

Go for it!! I think its a great idea too, just think how much schools could raise, I hope to beable to tell you how much in the near future, it will be a while before they send out a newsletter telling us, but any amount is good.
