View Full Version : Community Based Riddle

I am a member of a site called Worth1000. (www.worth1000.com) I am part of the forums and they have a riddle to solve, but the person who runs the site (JaxomLOTUS) says: "I can't stress enough that you should be using as much brainpower (i.e. other online communities) as possible in finding out the answer. This is a community based riddle, and no one person can solve it all. I have no doubt that with the amount of people in larger forums they will zip through the puzzle in no time."

Sooooo...I was hoping my fellow PT'ers might be able to help out here, since we are another online community. Here's the riddle:

Before the split, I was the first
My rejection was my curse
Beneath the earth, my sons do grieve
to rise again on Hallow's Eve

Here's (http://www.worth1000.com/stories/thread.asp?cid=30&eid=146994&page=1) the thread where the people at Worth1000 have been trying to figure it out. The point of the riddle is to try to figure out what JaxomLOTUS's new site, www.plime.com is all about. For right now, he just has the riddle on the front page of plime.com and a spot where you can enter in your answer. The picture on the front is the riddle but in wingdings 2 font.

So I come to you, PT'ers for desperate help to solve this riddle!! :p :D Anyone have any ideas?

Far, far too difficult for me!

Please let us know if you find the answer!

It really seems like it's talking about Lucifer, fallen angel, etc etc. because on Halloween it's said that demons can come out and walk on the surface (i think? I'm really not familiar with this holiday so someone PLEASE correct me! :))

Hmm well I guess the answer was "Lilith"...I only got that because I got the answer from someone else :p

Here's the clue to the next level:

before the split I was unique
I named them all by their physique
I named them all except for one
name this creature and move on

Is this one Loki??? Or do they want the name of the offspring?

"Loki had two children Vali and Narvi by her, and fathered several others by his various paramours. By the giantess Angrboda he produced three monsters Fenris (the fearsome and gigantic Wolf), Jormundgand (the World Serpent) and Hel (the Goddess of Death), who were all to play decisive roles later. He also had an unnamed child from the wife of the God of War, Tyr. Having the ability to change his sex, Loki also managed to give birth himself twice. The first instance, having transformed himself into a mare to lure away the magical stallion belonging to a Giant that had been about to fleece the Gods, he gave birth to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir; this horse that none other could ever overtake was later gifted to Odin. In the second instance Loki ate the heart of a burnt ogress and gave birth to an offspring through his arm-pit. "

I tried it and Loki isn't right. It's asking for the name of the unnamed child, I think. where it says "name this creature".....hmmm....

If it's not Fenrir, Jomungand or Hel, then it might be a completely different character you're looking for.

Naming an unnamed child is a riddle in itself! :D

I know! Maybe it's just asking for the type of creature. Like what it was, not necessarily it's name.....I dunno. :)

is the second part asking what "creature" Adam DID NOT have to name?

PepperRSM

Hmmm well, someone on the other forum said this creature is "a fairly common one, you meet it quite often." and "only 1 creature not named by Adam..." So, I don't know...I've tried a bunch of different things, but nothing has worked.

Woman is the only creature not named by Adam!

It seems like the answer to level five is the apple tree, isn't it asking for the tree that was in the garden of eden? i just don't the year (the answer to level four).

Nomilynn
10-19-2004, 02:24 PM
#4 is the year adam died according to the Hebrew calendar, so 930.. but you have to type out the number

Nomilynn
10-19-2004, 02:44 PM
