I must confess I am one of those people that needs a solid 8 hours worth of sleep a night in order to remotely function. Last night I got 4....

why you ask?

Because I figured after the cozy nap scene of yesterday afternoon they'd be ok to have free-run of the house for the night. All went well. At first they played played played. Were they EVER going to settle down?

Pouncer got tired of the party so he came to bed and cuddled with me. Purring curled in my arms as happy as can be. As I started to drift off into dreamland, Harry come for a visit! AWWWWWWWW. His purr machine was running fullblast. He tucked himself right next to Pouncer and I thought to myself "Life is great!"

But wait! Apparently sharing a bed in the afternoon has different politics than sharing a bed with mom and dad at night. Pouncer GROWLED and hissed and did all sorts of unsavory things to poor Harry, who only wanted to share the bed!

I was so mad at Pouncer! I spent half an hour talking to him and assuring him that he was my #1 man and to not be jealous of Harry sharing a few inches of blanket. All was good and we settled back in.... Pouncer purring in my arms. Then Harry jumped up a second time. Then Pouncer Growled and hiss a second time. Harry flew out of the room and was afraid to return He and Evie spent the night on the couch. At least its better than them spending it in the cage?

Sigh, do you think tonight will go better? I'll need a nap soon, so maybe that can be a dry run? :D

ROFLOL!!:D I'm sorry because I know that is not very sympathetic but life with kittens and older resident cats can get so interesting at times. Pouncer obviously has decided that the kittens are fun until it comes to sharing his momma at bedtime! Poor Harry must have been so confused. Pouncer let me sleep with him this afternoon so whats up now? Too funny!

I'm sorry you missed so much sleep and I promise you I really understand how busy it can get in the middle of the night and it totally stinks the next morning. Hopefully it will get better.:D

we are gald, that Pouncer, has calmed down.My Pouncer, the RB Cat,would do that with Scrappy, once,in a while, she would be lovey dovey, and then suddenly POW,BIFF,like in the Batman Show Fight scenes! Then lovey dovey again! CATS!

Poor Harry, he hasn't learned the rules according to Pouncer.

I'm so afraid I will run into that same situation when I start letting R&R out at night. Scout sleeps in my arms every night and she will swat Ripley away if he gets too close. I can't imagine how bad she will be with the kittens since she probably dislikes them more than Ripley at this point.

Sounds like Pouncer's fine sharing his bed, but not his Meowmy!!! Wow, you're more precious than bed! (Scant comfort, right?)
