Well, his surgery was this morning. It took alot longer than it should have, because my appointment was at 8:00, but the vet didn't get started on him until 10:00 because two dogs came in with porcupine quills stuck in their noses. They kept trying to make me leave him there and go back later but I didn't want to leave him until after the surgery, so I ended up waiting there for over two hours lol.

His surgery went fine -- all of that worrying for nothing. :) However, the vet wasn't able to get the entire tumor out. He got out most of it, but some of it was up inside of his rectum, and the vet couldn't go that far, so he had to leave it. :( He said it may grow back and it that case it would be best to put him to sleep. :( He said that the tumor doesn't look aggressive, but it doesn't need to be aggressive to be malignant. I got to see the tumor after it came out -- it was white and bloody and Icarus's skin was still attached to it. I was hoping to watch the surgery, but I would have felt stupid if I asked to lol.

Icarus is at the vet's as we speak. Poor baby. He hates the vet now. The vet reached into the cage to pick him out and Icarus screamed at him and tried to get away, but he was so drowsy that only one side of his body worked so he kind of just rolled away from him. Poor guy. He should be fine though, and I can pick him up in a couple of hours.

Thanks for all of your prayers! :)

Jordan I'm so glad to hear he made it through the surgery, at least he has a chance now. I'll keep him in my prayers that he recovers well and that the tumor stays passive. You're a good Momma to him :)

Jordan, work has been busy today and I did not have a chance to check this out until now.

I'm so glad the sir jury went well and I'll keep praying that the tumour does not return. Hugs to you and please give Icarus a kiss from me.

You and little Icarus both, were so very brave. Hopefully the remaining tumor tissue will not become invasive and your baby will enjoy lots more time with his wondeful Mom! He's so lucky to have you, Jordan:) Lots of well wishes and healing prayers for your beloved Icarus:) {{{HUGS}}} Sandra

Thanks everyone! :D Icarus is doing well. His stitches look very icky though, and I'm beginning to wonder if they are getting infected. I'll be off to the vet sometime in the next couple of days to get them looked at.

Speaking of Icarus, him and I will be in the Newspaper soon! :D This will be Icarus's second time in the newspaper. Most ratties don't get that lucky! :)
