Jeremy has the biggest cockerel in Britain

An Essex man believes he has the biggest cockerel in Britain - a 2ft monster which he calls Melvin.

The giant cockerel weighs more than 15lbs and dwarfs other roosters, says The Sun.

Owner Jeremy Goldsmith said: "We're staggered. He just grows and grows. We asked experts and no one's heard of a cockerel this big."

Jeremy runs Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted, Essex, where Melvin lives with his mate Mandy.

At 18-months-old, Melvin is twice the size of other birds of his Buff Orpington breed.

My mind isn't filthy, and I'm far from a prude, but the thread title is just plain offensive on a family friendly site.

And yes I clicked, but only because I knew it would be about a rooster, and so that I could post this.

I changed the title.

Yes, I DO love the shock factor and I like to get people to think about WHAT they think......

People that read my posts are prepared for the 'twist'.

Most of the time they laugh at themselves for presuming the worst and then they find out that it's a joke.

Sorry, if I ruffled any 'feathers'.

:(

No "feathers" ruffled here, Richard! I knew exactly where you were going, anyway!!!!! :D Can't say my feathers don't get ruffled sometimes, here in the dog house, but you didn't do it today!!!! :)

I edited the title of the thread within your original post. Even though this is the Dog House, we do not want parents banning their children from ever visiting our site because of what they perceive to be off-color or offensive stuff. We do all we can to keep this site family-friendly. The Dog House is not "anything goes," it is still part of our site!

A 15 lb. rooster???!?!? That's insane! That is less than Tito and Sophie weigh put together (I think)!!!!

If I saw a 2 foot tall rooster I would freak!!!

P.S. The old title didn't ruffle my feathers either, Richard! I knew what it had to mean!! ;)

Didn't bother me either, but then again, you've met me. :D
There is just so much I could post about this but I took my "be good" pill again this morning.......;) and I wouldn't want anything "fowl" to be said....
