An Australian airport was shut down for almost an hour Monday, when someone reported a strange humming noise coming from a garbage can. Cafeteria manager Lynne Bryant said it was "rather disconcerting when the rubbish bin started humming furiously."

Police ordered an evacuation while they investigated.

After about 45 minutes the security alert was canceled. It turned out that someone had tossed out an adult sex toy.

So many things to say to this. Uh, I think they tossed it away too soon as it still had some energy left. That is so funny! I hope they used caution when picking it up. No telling where it's been, really!

Last holiday we got in our hotel room - Slick/Richard - stop it!! - and heard this weird noise - searched everywhere: bathroom, mini bar, under the bed and couldn't find anything so we started to unpack - that's when we found my toothbrush - whirring madly away to itself!! Duh!!:eek: :eek:

I can see where they were coming from with all the safety regulations and all. But that is just a little weird. Sorry no jokes or storys here, i have lived a sheltered life ;) :D. (Not realy)

Last year the entire personnel processing building was shut down at a US fort for a similar reason...seems a soldier's significant other didn't want him to stray and sent him some toys. The package fell off the shelf in the PO and started buzzing. They evac'd the building and the soldier had to come open and claim the package on the spot, then the entire incident (including the contents of the package) was written up and sent out as an incident report. That had us laughing for days.
