My baby girl Lucybelle just threw up her entire lunch and is now laying on the couch,, sleeping,, but she keeps groaning in her sleep....... If she doesnt improve later today,, I think I might call the vet.... shes been inside all day cept when she went out for her morning piddles... she didnt eat anything weird.... her throw up is all doggie food....

Poor Lucy, has she eaten anything like a rawhide chew? Tawny has been sick , terrible gas, and runs , this is cronic with her and she has to go on hamburger and rice for a few days to clear everything up, it seem to be within a few days of her heartworm medication. I wish they could talk.

Oh no, poor Lucybelle, i hope she feels better, sometimes Rita will just throw up for no reason, most the time it is because she ate some grass or sticks in the yard ( i will find them mixed in her food and barf) i hope Lucy isnt sick!:(

Oh how I dread those days when they're sick to their stomach and you don't know why; I always worry about dehydration. Try the bland chicken/boiled beef and rice diet and see if that helps. Poor baby. I hope you feel better soon, Lucy...HUGS!!! Please keep us updated.

And lots of get well wishes to you too, sweet, sweet Tawny:) My Star send lots of feel better Labbie licks to you:)

Poor baby :(. I sure hope Lucy is feeling better soon. My RB collie Willie used to get an upset tummy easy. The vet always said to let his stomach rest (withhold food and large amounts of water) for 24 hours and then give him something bland like the rice or boiled hamburger with broth. He suggested letting him lick ice cubes so that he didn't get too much water in there but still wasn't thirsty. Later in life Willie would suddenly develop an intolerance to his dog food and I would have to find something else. The last food he was on and he seemed to do well on was Pro-Plan turkey and barley formula. I guess it was bland enough and didn't have any ingredients that upset his tummy. It wasn't as nice a quality as what my pups are on now, but it was what he could eat without getting a tummyache. :)

Get well soon Lucybelle!

Boy I know how worrisom that throwing up can be,it scares the living day lights outa a person, if they could only talk. I hope Lucy gets better soon. I usually keep the boyz food in my fridge in the garage, no bugs can get in it there. Joannie

we normally keep her food in a sealed container downstairs as we buy a huge bag at a time.. perhaps buying a smaller bag and keeping it in the kitchen might be in order instead.... will be costlier,, but oh well,, its her health!

Glad to hear Lucy is feeling a bit better, lots of rest helps. It will probably take a few days for her to get back to herself. Merlin must miss play time. Tawny has her ups and downs with her tummy she is an old girl but she was looking for treats today, so she can't be feeling too bad. Our furbabies are a worry sometimes. Give Lucy a big hug from us. Glad to hear Lucy is feeling better (I just read this thread). Perhaps the food was getting rancid? That would cause more of an upset tummy than bugs would. You'd be able to tell by smelling it...smells really sour when it's gone bad. In the winter I store the dogfood in my cellar bulkhead. It's like a freezer in the winter, but summertime's a whole other problem. If it's not some place away from the cats, they'll claw the bags open! With two large dogs (and one tiny) we go through quite a bit of dry food.

What my dad did was buy 2 pails, & would divide a 50 pound bag into both of them. RB Max ate Nutro Senior & there was only a few days worth that couldn't fit in the pails.

We kept the pails ontop of eachother in the kitchen & we only opened 1 at a time. & we kept the lid snapped on tight all day long.

the bigger bags r MUCH cheaper, so go buy some big strong pails & they'll do the trick :)

Webleached the heck out of the can we keep her food in, washed it down dried it, aired it out and put her new food in it,, shut the lid tightly, sealed it and so far so good

Sorry that I'm so behind...but glad that Lucy is back to her old self! Funny how I swore I wouldn't repeat my 1st time mom routine with Logan (with Cody I called the vet if he sneezed 3x in a row) but I still panic altho her only episodes so far have been bile and I know that's because she digs for moles and and purposely aggravates me (smiling all the while) as she dig holes in the lawn so downs more dirt and grass than permissable by MY law!:D But it still alarms me because she wants to sleep afterwards and gets lethargic (for about 5 minutes). It's just too scary for words. I hate it.
