Hi, my husband and I walk every evening and a few weeks ago, he followed us home. He's a siamese ragdoll mix with the sweetest blue eyes, good natured too, anyways now he meows at the door, and scratches wanting inside. My Hubby and I work at home and it is a distraction for both of us because we feel bad that he is out there. He belongs to a family a few houses down, and he is well fed, I know they at least feed him. My question is, how can I get the cat to go home. I can't take in a cat right now, especially one that belongs to someone else.

Thanks

Annie

That is always,sad,when a Cat,is left,to his own devices,there are several,that come around,to the Hitel,as the people,up the street,lose interst,after,they are no longer Kittens,and then shrug,when something bad happens to them,like RB Cats,Orange Blossom,Gem,and Karina!

Hmmm.....tough situation. Too bad the owners let such a beauty roam outside. :( However, to answer your question, they do sell stuff at Petco or Petsmart that is supposed to keep cats away. Maybe if you buy some of that and spray it on the porch he'll get the hint. Or, maybe you could go talk to the owners and tell them what's happening and ask them to keep kitty inside - which would be better for kitty anyway. Good luck!

I agree - talk to his owners, let them know he wants IN! Maybe they'll get the hint. Other way? Borrow someone's big barking dog that doesn't like cats for a few days.

I do not think I could borrow a dog to scare the cat away, since he is so trusting and sweet, I can't betray that trust. However, I think I may know why he's visiting me so much. I think his owners are moving and he's not getting as much as attention. I could be wrong. He hasn't come today though. I enjoy visiting with the cat, I do not have cats, I love them though. Anyways, he kind of stops me from working. Meowing almost a begging cry to get in. I will keep everyone updated.

Aww that is such a sad situation. If they are moving, I pray that they take their cat with them and not just leave him behind.

I agree with talking to the owner. Maybe then you can find out if they are caring owners or just couldn't care less. I hope it is the first part.
