Hey, that sounds similar to a Fuzzy Navel and I love those! Rolling Stones. I immediately thought of Paint it Black. I also love 19th Nervous Breakdown. Here's a great Rolling Stones site http://www.keno.org/Home.html

Welcome to Thursday's CF. This is the place to hang your hat for awhile and enjoy the company of fun-loving people. Only rule is leave the attitude at the door and first-timers need to tell a joke.

Hi everyone else. MOFF, for some reason everytime I pass a fastfood place I think of you and onion rings. :D

David, glad to hear the knee is better. Have you been driving much (and I don't mean golfing) ??:D

Richard, got another double BM in your back pocket???

Yup. The problem was the intermittant thing-a-majingy! :D I had some other stuff done to the car at the same time and came back to a $400 bill. Let the rain begin. I feel like I've been reborn.

I can see! I can see!

Glad to hear you are "getting around".

Richard, very funny. When I first got my answering machine at home my outgoing message was dear old Mae (in my own voice, of course). "Is that a pen in your pocket or are you just glad to hear my voice??" :D I only left it on for a week for obvious reasons.

Good morning everyone and happy Thirsty!
Weather here is absolutly miserable. It's foggy, dark and raining. Good time for a Spanish Coffee and curling by the fireplace. I guess summer is over for this year.
Guess everyone is still asleep so I'll just slip into the kitchen and do some cleanup.

Awwww, look at Mario all cuddled up beside Gini. What a kodak moment. :) Wonder if she had any PT dreams last night?

We have a gorgeous day today! The first realy nice one all week. I think I'll have a drink of the day please! Mad that I missed an outing last week! I'd love to visit there - not sure about on a donkey though.

I heard on the radio yesterday that the Rolling Stones are planning a tour for 2006 when they will have a combined age of 2000 or so.

'Morning everyone! Hopefully I'll be able to visit Thursday's again today...if my boss doesn't show up that is.

I'll start with a spanish coffee even though it is another gorgeous sunny day here today. I heard on the radio this morning that this is the first time since 1897 that September has been warmer than August in Chicago. So far we've had 15 days over 80 degrees in September, and we only had 10 in August. Weird weather this summer, but I've really enjoyed it. I can't take the high heat and humidity that we normally get....not to mention the really low a/c bills. ;)

So, what's all this donkey doo doo laying all over the place?

Hi all! I think I need a drink! I think I may have just gotten one of my co-workers fired! ...I feel bad, but not too bad, because the reason he's getting fired is that I caught him looking at porn on my computer! Anyway, I had to suck it up and go in my boss' office and tell him - it was hard because he's 65, SUPER religious, and treats me like his granddaughter. Imagine me telling him what I found on my computer....

Definitely glad tomorrow's Friday!!

Oops, forgot to post a joke I had to get the day started. Here you go.

A cowboy walks into a bar and orders a whisky. When the bartender delivers the dirnk, the cowboy asks, "Where is everybody?"

The bartender replies, "They've gone to the hanging."

"Hanging? Who are they hanging?"

"Brown Paper Pete," the bartender replies.

"What kind of name is that?" the cowboy asks.

"Well," says the bartender, "he wears a brown paper hat, brown paper shirt, brown paper trousers and brown paper shoes."

"How bizzarre," said the cowboy. "What are they hanging him for?"

"Rustling," replied the bartender.

arrggh matey - what a joke - oops, wrong week. :o

lizzy - Yikes - just remember, you didn't get him fired, his actions did.

Hi T&P - wish I could say that about our weather. September is usually one of our nicest months - cool crisp mornings and warm sunny afternoons - unfortunately, this September has been more like April - cool and rainy. We're supposed to finally get some warm weather again this weekend - we better enjoy it because it might be the last of the 80 degree weather until May or June.

David - Richard isn't around yet so I'll rustle up that coffee - done.

It has been a weird week though - glad to FINALLY stop by for a DOTD (if it's not too late). I did meet up with Emily-the-Spoiled (aka Cheryl) for lunch on Tuesday. It was really fun to meet her and I'm honored too because she said I was the first honest to goodness PetTalker she's actually met in person! Well, I don't know about the honest part and "goodness"?? It wasn't Halloween, but a few of you had on some *funny* clothes. I guess it is the diversity of our group that I was dreaming about.

Richard thanks for the rum and coke........perfectly made!

How about if we go to visit each other? Since this would be a cyber trip - everyone would have a house big enough to hold us all - an unlimited budget for the groceries - and a comfy bus to take us around to see the sights.

Slick, you do mention how pretty it is in your area. How about if we come to visit you and meet Max and Speckles? Then you could show us around your area and we could have some yummy seafood.

Thanks Richard, I needed that. Mid 80's, sunny & dry today, but nights in the 50's Beautiful, typical weather for September in Washington DC. What's for lunch? Anybody have a particular hankering for anything? Cooking relaxes me and sometimes chopping things up into small pieces puts a somewhat evil grin on my face ;) Ya'll can come visit me anytime but I would suggest in the next month or so. Winter here is miserable. Fall is delightful and most all the sights are free, museums, most art galleries, the zoo. Gini, spaghetti sauce with beer in it? Sounds yummy! :D I've heard of sauces using wines, but never beer, I'll have to try it next time. :D

I'm up for a real drink now. Just got back from lunch - had a reuben quesadilla. Same thing as a reuben sandwich but on a tortilla instead of bread - less carbs you know. I like it because it's not as filling and I don't have to worry about falling asleep at my desk at about 2:00 pm. ;)

Then while we are down there we can swing by his Mommy's place, then Gini's, then Kelly's, then see Sara's new home. Oh my, I'm getting carried away aren't I.

Don't have a clue Laurie but here's a little song to sing you to sleep......:D

The Moonshiner

I'm a rambler, I'm a gambler,
I'm a long way from home
And if you don't like me,
Well, leave me alone
I'll eat when I'm hungry,
I'll drink when I'm dry
And if moonshine don't kill me,
I'll live til I die

I've been a moonshiner for many a year
I've spent all me money on whiskey and beer
I'll go to some hollow, I'll set up my still
And I'll make you a gallon for a ten shilling bill

I'll go to some hollow in this count-er-y
Ten gallons of wash I can go on a spree
No women to follow, the world is all mine
I love none so well as I love the moonshine

Oh, moonshine, dear moonshine, oh, how I love thee
You killed me old father, but ah you try me
Now bless all moonshiners and bless all moonshine
Their breath smells as sweet as the dew on the vine

THUNDER WAS HIS ENGINE, AND WHITE LIGHTNING WAS HIS

C
LOAD

F

THERE WAS MOONSHINE, MOONSHINE TO QUENCH THE DEVIL'S THIRST
G
THE LAW THEY SWORE THEY'D GET HIM, BUT THE DEVIL GOT

G
A FEDERAL MAN SENT WORD HE'D BETTER MAKE HIS RUN NO

FATE.

SON, HIS DADDY TOLD HIM, MAKE THIS RUN YOUR LAST
G
YOUR TANK IS FILLED WITH HUNDRED-PROOF,
C
YOU'RE ALL TUNED UP AND GASSED

NOW, DON'T TAKE ANY CHANCES, IF YOU CAN'T GET THROUGH
G
I'D RATHER HAVE YOU BACK AGAIN THAN ALL THAT MOUNTAIN

C
DEW
CHORUS

ROARIN' OUT OF HARLAN, REVVING' UP HIS MILL
G
HE SHOT THE GAP AT CUMBERLAND,

AND SCREAMED BY MAYNORDSVILLE

WITH G-MEN ON HIS TAILLIGHTS, ROADBLOCKS UP AHEAD
G
THE MOUNTAIN BOY TOOK ROADS THAT EVEN ANGELS FEARED
C
TO TREAD.

BLAZING' RIGHT THROUGH KNOXVILLE, OUT ON KINGSTON PIKE
G
THEN RIGHT OUTSIDE OF BEARDON, THEY MADE THE FATAL

Hate to say this, but I don't recognize the song. However, when Slick decided to sing it ONE MORE TIME -

I started singing it - but to the tune of the theme song for "The Beverly Hillbillies".

I'll have some of that coffee and Baileys. <sings off tune> "Won't you come home Bill Bailey, won't you come home....?)

RICHARD, I thought it was a hair-ball!

MOFF, just came back from paying my HUGE property tax bill at the county courthouse (YUK) and needed some comfort.. SO, went up to Kensington Kabob & Pizza joint and bought some ONION RINGS! Thought of you of course... boy, were they just purrfect.

Slick, "perky"? That's almost as bad as being "cute". I hate cute.

Can't believe ya'll caint remember Thunder Road. Robert Mitchum was my hero. Well, at least one of them.

Beverly Hillbillies, I think that's when I decided I wanted a BloodHound for my next dog. Of course I ended up with a bunch of BorderCollie/AussieShepard mutts... I guess I'll keep them after all.

HEY, did you know that I also have a CLOWDER at home? In yesterdays crossword puzzle the answer was "ABUNCHOFPETCATS". And JenLuckenback always has a KINDLE "AGROUPOFKITTENS". Look it up... true words:D:p

Hey, hey, hey! Speak for yourself Gini! I don't have a clue what Thunder Road is! Slick, scritchies back to Speckles...and Max too since we can't leave anyone out. Feline Foggies is a great name! I must have skimmed over that but I went back and checked it out.

Feline Foggies, where frail, forgetful felines fadeaway. Hmmm....somehow I don't think that's a very good slogan. We need something more.....hmmm...what's the word I'm looking for....got it!....we need a slogan that is much more perky! :D

Gheeshs things move swiftly here. I'm gone a couple hours and it seems like a month.
If you come to Glacier park mid Oct you may or may not get through on the sun hiway. depends on the snow fall it is usually gated and closed off by the end of the month they get anywhere from 25 - 180 feet during the winter. ERemember it is the rocky mtns. you can go to national park web sites and see pictures of the clearing of snow from April 2003 its just about the same every year.
Thunder road I remember and it was Robert Conrad who is the battery guy.
