I find myself thinking about this little fellow all of the time. How is he doing Jan?

I know it's a lot to ask because you are so busy but when you get a chance can we have some pictures of the little guy? No hurry!:)

Lisa, He's bordering on being naked. I gave him a bath two nights ago, as he really needed it, and bless his little heart he was TRYING to lick the excess water off his fur! He has a lot of fur loss from yanking out the little tufts with his teeth! If you can't clean it..remove it? He tolerated the bath pretty well, it took a lot out of him, and loved being snuggled into towels right out of the dryer. :D I tried putting one of chihuahua Peanut's coats on him, and he hates them as much as Peanut does. I think next time hubby throws out socks that are stretched out, I'll cut one to fit around Birdie's body. I'm not sure if that will stress him out though. Wait and see. He's eating well again, and has gone through two cans of his favorite so far today...Whiskas Bits-O-Beef with the gravy poured off. His wounds are closed up nicely, and it's just time and prayers that his tongue will regain full function.

Oh little Birdie. I love hearing about his progress. Hopefully now that the wounds have closed, his tongue can finish healing properly and start working. C'mon little tongue - WORK! :D

P.S. No pictures of a wet Birdie? :p

Sorry Red..no wet Birdie pics. It would be physically imposssible to hold him, wash him and take his pictures at the same time. No one else around at this hour! Hubby's at work...and I'm not sure even if he were here, that he'd be too thrilled about taking any pictures.

Glad to hear his wounds are healing well. Prayers still on the way that his little tongue will start working soon. Poor little guy.

I know I am going to worry about him the whole time I am at work this time out so I will have somebody check the boards for me so I can keep up with him. I WILL be praying for him, the prayers will not stop because I am gone!! This is one of those extreemly touching, unforgettable cases.

Bless his little heart! Does he have any movement in his tongue at all? I wonder if there is some way to stimulate the licking response?

He's really trying hard, and it may have been an illusion, but it looked like he was licking the water off his fur the other night, though not really well. He manages to eat quite well, but when his canned food is smushed down in his dish, he can't eat it. So I keep giving him a fresh can of his favorite...Whiskas. He's going on his third can today, but I end up throwing out a bit less than half a can each time. So all in all, the sweet baby's doing pretty well! He is a lot pinker than he was just 12 days ago! I promise I'll get some new pics soon!! ;)
