I was wondering what everyone's favourite Petstore is. I really like PetSmart.

There's one right across the street from me called Pet Supermarket. But I shop at PetSmart too. :D

PetSmart, Petco, TAGS, Pet People, and a few others.

I don't give business to petstores that sell puppies/dogs/kittens/cats.

I normally shop at PetSmart it's the most convinent to me and I like it there. Petland just opened up in Tucson, and I went to go look at it once since i was nearby. I refuse to shop there because they sell dogs so I don't want to give them my business.

I work at Petco so I'd be a traitor if I didn't choose that! ;) I shop there mostly, but I do go to Petsmart too.

There are no Petlands here. I went to Petcetera in Canada, cool store, but I didn't choose it because I obviously can't shop there often as they don't have them here either.

Mostly Petco...and PetsMart once in awhile. Petco is closer to me, so its more convenient.

We do our pet shopping at either Petsmart or Petland, depending on what we need. Can't get mice/rats for the snakes anywhere but Petland. Petsmart has by far the best food selections for the dog and ferrets.

np petsmart, or petco around here, we just got a petland a couple months ago, but I refuse to even enter that store. I shop at petcetera, and at A1-Aquarium. I sometimes go to pats pets and alan decaro but not often, some of the pat pets branches are really good, and take good care of all there animals, and some are not so great. alan decaro is just cluttered, its like everything is everywhere, and its not very organized so I dont like it to much. oh I also shop at master feeds(but I liked it much better when it was still western feeds)

Pets n You :( ONLY pet store within an hour and a half of us :(

There is ONE dog food store, but they charge 5 dollars MORE a bag then Pets N You does, and I can't afford it.

Pets N You sells those cute lil doggies, it's so sad.

I only shop at Petsmart.... I no longer support Petco for anything.

I shop a lot at Bosleys and Van Pet. They're walking distance from my house (4 blocks away or so). They only carry the higher quality foods (raw included! :D). Their worst foods are still the best foods that Petcetera carries.

I go to Petcetera for small things. Things are way overpriced there (I saw a ball on a string for $30  ). Workers aren't very helpful either.

My all time favorite is Petsmart. The closest one is very far from here so we don't go often. They carry some awesome treats there and their prices aren't too bad either.

Petsmart mostly. Sometimes Petco. I shop at a local store called Canine Commissary also. They have neat, unique items. :)

And of course, I order a ton of stuff online. ;)

Petco is way too expensive, and never have I found anyone that knows anything there. So, I shop at Petsmart and Drs Foster and Smith, online. :)

I used to shop & get my dogs groomed at Petsmart but, I had a VERY bad experience with 2 of the groomers.
I since have switched to Petco Grooming, manager there has done a great job.
I'm not going to get my hopes up though. Just when it seems like they're doing a great job something seems to always happen (call it a black cloud). I may be a bit demanding but I don't think so, considering they're my babies & I do not want anything bad happening to them!
I usually buy the dog food at Mounds & I buy all their treats & toys at either Wal-mart or Woodman's grocery store.

I shop at Petco mostly, but sometimes PetsMart too.

Our Petco here is so clean and I like it because they have very good quality items.

PetsMart is ok, but I don't care for it because they sell both good and bad quality items. For a pet store I am disappointed in them because they sell Kibbles and bits and pedigree and other low quality foods. I think that a pet store should be a place pet owners should be able to look for guidance, and I don't see that at PatsMart.

Really? I thought all PetSmarts were pretty much the same, The PetSmart I go doesn't sell kibbles N' bits. Iams, pedigree and a few other foods. They sell mostly really high quality food and toys at great prices. I also like the fact that my PetSmart doesn't sell dogs. They have some cats from the shelter in there though.

I buy dog food at a small store called Especially 4 Pets. It carries high end dog food.
I don't really buy anything from pet stores, but if I do have to go to one I will go to either Petsmart or Petcetera. I will not buy anything from Petland, although sometimes I do go in there to try and educate people.
I have never found people more knowledgeable at one stor over the other. I think that in general they are all pretty dumb, but they do get points from me if they know I have shelties when I walk in. I also think that their grooming and training are horrible (this is only the stores I've been in personally, I do realize that all stores are different.)

We have no PetSmart around here, which makes me mad because they are better than Petco. We have a lot of Petcos around here and they are outrageously expensive there. I shop there (ew), Fleet Farm (where I work), Waldschmidts (feed store and animal supply store, local), Pet Supplies Plus, and Pet World (TONS of stuff there for good prices). For local tack shops, I love Horse Emporium, Halls Saddlery, and State Line Tack (only go to SLT when I'm out of state).

Yeah...what petstores do I shop at?:p Wal-Mart, Superstore and Zellers!

The closest pet store to me is Petland, which is 2 and a half hours away (same one where Cali is). I went there once, but I didn't buy anything, as I did not have Major then. I had no idea it was such a bad store:( Just figures...we FINALLY get a pet store close to us (well...yeah...2 and a half hours away...) and its Petland:rolleyes:

I have so far bought Major's food at Wal-Mart, was Ol' Roy, now switched to Purina ONE. Wal-Mart, really, sadly, is our best pet option:(

Used to shop at Petsmart all the time . . . but then we moved to a smaller town and the nearest pet store is about 20 minutes away. I think it's a Petsmart knock off . . . it's called PetMart.

I have a Pet Valu about a mile away. For quick things I'll go there. It is a very small local chain, I believe, but they have a nice variety of things considering their size. I also shop at PetsMart, but the best place in the area is Bill's Wonderland. They have everything there but the kitchen sink (the only pets they sell are fish) and they sell the high end foods like Chicken Soup, California Natural, Solid Gold, etc. and others that you can't find at PetsMart. It has been voted *Best of South Jersey* many times.

Petsmart is my favorite, but they can be expensive with some things! I found that litter for Taffy is cheaper at a Target or Walmart!:)

I don't do a lot of shopping at the pet store, just because I can't really afford a lot of extras right now. I've bought several toys for finn from walmart. I like Petsmart the most, though. And, I buy parrot and conure food for my rat from Petco. I don't know if I've ever even checked to see if Petsmart carries it! :) And, I buy Finn's food at the grocery store or the butcher!

Petcetera, Total Pet, Pet City, Bone Appetit, Sunshine Pets, Pampered Pets, Wal-Mart, Liquidation World, Discount Warehouse, etc.

Petcetera has my rats' rawhide and bedding. Bone Appetit and Sunshine Pets arry my cat's food. Everywhere else has random things that I buy now and then; treats, toys, etc.

I shop at Concord Pets. It is a chain around this area...in Delaware and Maryland, not sure where else...

They have a great deal , where you buy 10 bags of food, and your 11th is free...and that is nice, considering Dale's food is $30 a bag...so I will be due for a free bag sometime soon...the same deal with the cats...i just got a free bag for their food last time i went...they have lots of toys and treats too...a great store overall...and the one in Delaware is tax free :)

1) Pet's Mart

-OR-

2) Pet Smart

;) LOL! I shop there or little places around where I live:)A pleace near me has that offer as well, and snce my 2 piggies just eat TOO much I have received TONS of free things, they say I am their #1 customer, maybe its just cause I am the one thats there every 2 days:rolleyes:

The nearest real pet store to us is about 120 miles away, so I shop at a feedstore (same place I buy my chicken food, straw, etc.). Fortunately, they have Chicken Soup dog food, and Science Diet and, I believe, Iams.

EUGH! Doesn't Petland sell puppies and kittens and ferrets?

I hardly ever shop at the above mentioned stores. I tend to shop at privately owned pet shops. This includes RedHound and Petvet/Petfood. I also shop at Pet Food Express (LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!).

As for PetCo and PetSmart, I despise the conditions the birds are put in. Let's face it. There are bird mills as well as puppy mills. The only time I used PetSmart is when I had to buy handfeeding formula and PetSmart was the only store who sold it (isn't that ironic?).

I usually shop online, but also shop at "Pet Stock" it is a produce and pet supply store. The prices are not the best, but every now and then you get a great bargain :D.

Since I'm one of the spys that reports animal abuse from Petco, petcocruelty.com, I don't let them have any of my money. I prefer pet supplies plus and a local pet store, Animal Adventure Pets. I have never been to a pet store that sells puppies or kittens since around 1990. I don't think it is legal in the Fox Cities. Almost all of our bigger pet stores adopt out kittens from the local humane societies and hold weekly or monthly adoption days for the dogs.

I only shop at Hidden Reef Pet Store because they will not sell you a pet just for the sake of selling a pet. When I was buying fish for my salt water fish tank, they told me exactly which fish went well together and which ones I would be able to look after. There were certain fish I wanted right away but they told me not to buy them yet because they were to picky and my tank was not ready. Other fish they would not sell me bwecause my tank is to small or my other fish would pick on them. This is good because i do not know everything about fish and dont want to spend 50 bucks on a fish only to have it die. When we bought our ferret Freddy they asked us a bunch of questions to see if we would be ready and able to take care of her.

Me too. Nino was wearing a halti head collar I had bought at PetSmart, and the groomer was really afraid of him! :( When she put the collar/leash combo thingy around his neck I slipped off the halti and she freaked out and told me that if he was even wearing that thing, I would need to keep it on. I told her it wasn't a muzzle, but a halti and that I had bought it in that very store. She took him and tied him REALLY close to the far wall, and handled him really roughly! (remember it's glass and she knew that I could see her handling him.) I go to Petsmart anyway, just not the grooming part of it. Our store is 3 miles away and I rollerblade there.

We have a Petscetera by my house but i never go there because they treat there fish really bad. They keep the betas in plastic cups all stacked together on a shelf and the saltwater fish are in tanks with no coral, or substrate. Most of ther fish are also over priced and labeled wrong. A clown fish at Hidden Reef is around $12 while at Petcetera it is about $40-50. The fish at Hidden Reef or Animal House usually dont have ick and if they do they never sell them while, i have seen many get sold with ick at Petcetera. But that is just the one by my house, i am not saying that all the stores are like that.

I shop at either Pet Smart or Pet Quarters (local store originiated in Maine). I HATE Pet Co. Sorry if this offends anybody. The Pet Co's around here are so gross. They're dirty, overcrowded with animal supply stuff all over the aisles and the people who work there are MEAN and NASTY! I found Pet Smart about 6 months ago and will drive 40 extra minutes to go there. The people are so nice and friendly. The store is clean, the cages are clean and there are no dead fish floating in the tanks (like at Pet Co). I like Pet Quarters too but the one near my town is rather small and they don't carry everything.

We livei n a hic town. so there isnt any one of those stores here.. all we have pet wise.. is WalMart and a dreaded stupid pet store... so if want to go to any of those places you listed above,, we have to do a lot of traviling...

so none of them. :p
