So I was on my way back home, one more turn to get to my house, when I see a little tiny kitten beside the road. We live a road away from a recycle/dump site, and alot of people drop of kitties there thinking they will find food  and they end up either hit by a car (like the last 2 I found and had to save) or get killed because they get caught up beside the dumpsters and can not get out in time before the people dump it and take it to the landfill.
Anyways, I get out of the car and start calling the kitty, and it turns and runs into the woods. Of course I go in after it and realize I am just making it worse. So I am trying everything to get it back out of the woods, and it responds to my meows by meowing back. I start walking back to my car, and it follows. I turn around and try to catch it, it runs away. So I get a can of cat food out of my trunk (yes I am one of those people who keep spare food for strays I see  ) and leave it out while I go home to get my butterfly/kitty catching net.
I return, and again the kitten is beside the road. So I get out of my car, and of course it high tails it into the woods, and I get my flashlight in one hand, net in the other, walk to the brim of the woods, and start meowing, it comes back, I shine the light into it's little eyes and BAM!!! I got him :) (he is mine now)lol
I put him into a towel and carry him home to check him over and make sure he isn't hurt.
He is about 4 weeks old, very skinny but overall in pretty good condition. He has a couple of scratches on his eye, nose and mouth, probably from the woods. He is very shy(likes to hiss) but very VERY sweet. He was shaking uncontrolably when I first brought him in, but a couple of hours into me holding him he finally warmed up and decided getting rubbed felt really good.
I fed him KMR with veal baby food I had leftover from my foster kitties, and he is pretty happy other than the fact that I am making him sleep in the garage for tonight because I don't want him to be around my kitties without shots/healthcheck yet. I can not keep him but I am sure that he will steal someone's heart soon enough!:D He is a fluffy grey tabby and I will have pictures of him up as soon as I get my new scanner. Thanks for listening and wish me and him luck. ( and prayers for him to find a loving home after he gets all better :D )

Good going! I always have the trusty butterfly nets, and catfood in my car too. Cinch cord cotton laundry bag make terrific instant cat carriers that don't take up room. So glad you got the kitten, and can't wait to see pictures. :D It may be a good idea to put food out daily in the area of the woods he was running into in case there's more (and a mom too) that need help. Keep us posted, and congrats! ;)

Great job! you must have been shaking too! So, now, siblings? Mom? Do you have a trap? flashlight was a good idea, blinds them but doesn't seem to stop them from eating as long as they don't HEAR you approaching! You must have been so proud of yourself! and you SHOULD BE!! You should hear Jan's kitten mews; sounds JUST like a kitten cuz she can do that high pitch out of her throat that is not voice exactly, it's like noise! Sometimes when she does it with out warning it creeps me out cuz even though I know her sound now, it is TOO MUCH like a newbie crying! Again, GREAT JOB!
How's the baby doing....?

Thank you all on your warm and caring replies:) Kitty is doing great, got his bath brush out and ear cleaning today. Hopefully the vet can check him over tomorrow. He is eating great and has warmed up so very fast. He now purrs and when I put him into the garage he screams for me to come back(he never gets tired)lol
Anyways I went back out there today to see if thier were anymore , but to no avail. I couldn't find any momma cat or kitties. The woods beside the dump site are VERY large, so I am going to try to make a trap and ask the property manager there if he minds letting me set it out for a couple days. I also am going to ask him to keep his eyes open, I can not imagine this kitten got lost or dumped off by himself. Who knows where he came from? I am just glad I saw him before this morning because it was pouring rain when I woke up. Anyways, if there are more I hope to catch them, and Thank you all again for your replies. He wants me to tell you all thank you also and xoxoxoxo to all whom help his friends everyday:D I will keep you all posted;)
