See, My cat Harmanie just had kits maybe about 2-3 weeks ago. Her box is in my room. But the problem is if I leave her in my room she will cry out really loud and then run to me. She will sit on the floor, look at me and then cry out to me. I will follow her back to my room and then see her go back into the box. She will then be content and it will seem that nothing has ever happend. I am soo confused.
Then if she is taking a rest from nursing her kits, she will come into the parler and lay on the floor. I think that she is sleeping but then right out of the blue she will sit up and have this REALLY loud cry that would bring a shiver to anyones spine. I look at her and say," Mum Mum, whats wrong?" she looks at me cries and then comes to me. I pet her a couple times and then goes back to sleep on the floor. I am still dumb founded.
Does anyone know what is causing her to do this? My Mum says that she only does this when I am home and she only stops if I calm her. Like if she does it when I am in the shower they have to bring her to me and I have to call her and she will stop. Sometimes it scares me. She just started doing this a week after she had her kittens. Um, what do you think it is? Do you think that it is just attention getting or somthing? Thats what my Mum said she thought it was.

Is this her first litter? if so she is feeling very insecure, she is looking on you as her mum to help her, I had the same problem with my babie Gizmo, when she had her first litter she was the same. I just gave her special attention for a good six weeks and she was fine. I think she is just trying to cope. :)

actually no, this is her second litter.

But on her first litter of kits, Harmanie had her mum to help her. She would help groom her kits and nurse. We had her mum for a month and then we had to let her go.:(

It sounds to me like Harmonie is a proud mama, and is showing off her kittens. Hopefully you're planning on spaying her???  After the kittens are weaned? What happened to her mum?

Ya we made an appointment to spay her and update her shots.

Her mum's name was Kalie~bugs. We had her for a year. She was a wild cat and we saved her. We didn't know that she was pregnant when we got her and thats how we got harmanie. I guess thats also onother reason why harmanie and I are so close to each other is because we made that bond when she was just a baby. But we had to give Kalie~bugs away because she became dangerously agressive against harmanie and killed one of her kits. I was not having this in my house. I gave her many chances and it was like she was going crazy. We gave both cats the same amount of attention. If one person was with one cat the other was with her. I don't know. I still miss her today ya know?

Harmanie is probably doing all of the things that you guys are suggesting. She is not doing it as often now. But she has a new thing. She keeps picking up this one cat and putting him in my closet. And just leaves him there. Doesn't bother to bring the rest of the litter. she just leaves him there. do you think that I am gong to feed him from a bottle or somthing? Hopefully it wouldn't get to that point ya know?

I know what you mean by close, when I got Gizmo she was only two weeks old, I had to feed her every two hours even through the knight, it was alright, it was just like looking after a baby, thats why I call her my babie. I think harmanie is looking for attention, I'm not sure, I adore my cats but I'm not an expert. I can only offer freindly advice.

If she is removing one baby and not nursing him/her, it sounds like rejection. Is the baby the runt? Is she able to nurse on her own off mom? You should be nursing her it sounds to me! I know I would be!
