Greetings from Baltimore, where I am visiting my mother and her 10-yr old yellow tabby cat named Patrick. He's an unneutered male -- something my mother and I fought over, b/c I believe in getting all cats spayed or neutered.

Anyway, I've never lived full-time with this cat, since my mom got him when I was in college, but whenever I come home (about three times a year) he acts weird. He runs over to me, rolls around at my feet, exposing his belly and his, uh, "manhood" (as my mother calls it), and makes a low purring/vibrating sound. He ONLY does this to me --- not to my mother or sister or anyone. And although he exposes his belly to me when he does this, he doesn't want me to pet or rub his belly, b/c when I do, he makes an angry sound and exposes his claws. He just wants me to watch him, I guess. Generally, he's very picky about being pet and just likes people touching him gently on his head and neck.

Has anyone else had or seen a cat that prostrates himself at someone special's feet like this? I can't figure out why he does this to me, or what exactly he's trying to communicate! I wish I knew what he was trying to tell me --

Thanks! :)

Hmm.... I dunno, but for some reason that old Rod Stewart song comes to mind: Do ya think I'm sexy? :D

I had one that use to do this when ever company would come and not make over him. He is wanting your attention and for you to admire him... That is all he is doing. Feel honored!

My Allen does this nightly. He rolls over and exposes his tummy. He doesn't really want to be petted, just sits there happily showin off everything he's got. Allen is fixed by the way. I don;t know why he does this, but it is a nightly dance of his, so we're used to it and no longer wonder WHY, rather we just enjoy our little exhibitionist. :)
