I was on Petfinder - I know I don't need another dog - but I was looking near Melbourne, Fl where Carl is living and found this

The Geritol Posse
Dog
Cairn Terrier Mix
Size: Small
Age: Senior
Sex: Female
I.D:
Notes: These precious little souls will touch your heart and enrich your life! Left at a shelter by their owner to die, the kindness of the shelter staff helped them find thier way to our rescue. They are senior dogs who have always been together. They are 9-11 years of age and weigh about 10-12 pounds each. Other than needing their teeth cleaned, they seem to be in good health. They are not barkers, and seem to enjoy each others company almost as much as being held and giving kisses. It is our hope that they will spend their remaining years in a loving home - together. Will it be yours? Update: We have done the dentals they so desperately needed. It is amazing the difference it has made. They are playful, wonderfully affectionate and the most delightful little characters! Many have said $1000 was a tremendous amount of money to spend on 4 little old dogs when there are so many others in need. But that is how they are saved.....one at a time. Or in this case 4 at a time! They are ready for a new home - together.
Who would be so mean to leave them at some shelter? Those sweeties gave someone the best years of their lives and how are they are rewarded? I can't imagine why someone wouldn't try to rehome them themselves if there was really some way they couldn't keep them or at least get them into a rescue rather than leave them at a shelter. Some people!
