This is Almalfi. He is a blue point male, about 10 years old. He needs a dental, and he's got a huge Meezer voice. He never uses it inappropriately. Only for greetings.
A sweet boy, gentle. Loves to sleep under the covers with you.

Looking for a home....

His voice can be painfully loud in the car.

He's named after a scenic region in Italy.

Almalfi, what a beautiful name for such a beautiful cat! I am so glad that your foster mommy decided to take you and love you. You are definately worth it. Those eyes just draw you in. Good luck with Almalfi, what you are doing for him is great =);)

He is beautiful! Why is he homeless at 10 years of age? :(:( Best of luck placing him.

My question, also. Those eyes are so gorgeous, but filled with sadness. He's so lucky to have you right now.

Well,

He was out loose. I don't know if he was always allowed out, he has no interest in leaving his room here.
Anyway, the neighbors complained about him, he was captured by animal control, he went to a local foster, then got into Siamese Rescue, and I got him.

He's not a fighter. He's neutered, and has been for a long time, my guess. He's got a white spot on his nose. Vet said it was a scar, from a fight. Other rescuer said he rubbed the fur off at the shelter.

He's going for his dental on Monday. I hope it makes him feel better.

Any stories out there about how dentals help cats?

This is my first one. I have to give him fluids tomorrow, and two days after the dental. And he's started anitbiotics.

Amalfi is a BEAUTY! WOW! Those eyes, those velvet ears! I'm in love!

As for dentals, my two had theirs done last December. They both needed extractions - two for Mishi and one for Mitzi. Mishi was goofy and glum for a day or two afterwards and took longer to bounce back to his silly self. Mitzi bounced back as if nothing had happened and was eating and playing almost immediately after coming home.

I hope Amalfi has an easy time of it. Give his nose spot a kiss for me.

Ripley had his first ever dental last year at age 11 and within a month or so we noticed he was biting harder when he plays, also he got a little spunkier too. He started playing with toys again. As for the immediate affects he we has groggy the first night and back to normal the next day.

Your new foster is gorgeous. I hope his dental goes well and he finds a good forever home quickly. At least he is safe with you now.

Our 14 year old, Louis, had dental work last year. He was put under in the morning, had a couple of extractions. We picked him up in the late afternoon - and he was surprisingly perky.

Almalfi is beautiful. What gorgeous eyes.

Well, his ears aren't so much velvet as leather.

They have no fur on them. He is the second blue boy I've had that has had bald ears. My Snowy doesn't have bald ears. He is younger.

Anyone have any cats with bald ears? Does it have to do with age?

How handsome you are!

The Amalfi coast is a very beautiful region near Naples and as everyone knows the Italians there are rather ... extroverted... aka loud:D

So your name fits purrfect because you are incredibly handsome and so musical:D

Almalfi is still with me.

He is a special boy.

Here's his incredible, ongoing story.

He was checked out by the vet and scheduled for his dental.
Then we had a hurricane.
Everything was alright, so he went in for the dental, and Dr. sent him home due to coccidia. (he had perfect stool and not symptoms)
So, after 10 days of albon, we were ready for another try, but wait, husband and I were about to go on vacation for two weeks and I didn't want to leave him right after his dental. So dental postponed till Sept 27.
Then we had a hurricane.
We left and came back from vacation, only to find that Malfi had a leg problem. The cat sitters informed the rescue and they said he could wait till I could get there and take him to the vet.
He went to the vet, and his leg was infected. He wouldn't put any weight on it, and he had licked the fur off of it. Treatment with antibiotics and an antiseptic wash twice a day for a week.
Then we had a hurricane.

Malfi's leg got worse. Rescue ordered an Xray and his leg has three fractured bones in his foot. They gave me pain meds, but they turned poor Malfi into a non-eating kitty zombie.
He went back in for a splint and we suspended the pain med. He seems to be much happier now, with his big green peg leg.
He purrs and he eats. He even trys to get the pee pee in the box.

He LOVES it under the cover in the bed with me.

We've got a long road ahead of us, especially if the splint does not correct his leg.
And he still needs that dental.

Poor boy, please send up some prayers and songs for this guy, and that his forever family might reveal themselves to us soon.

Rose

Whata tale of that wonderful Meeser! I hope he heals perfectly and finally gets his dental before the next hurricane.
