It looks like Happy Hannah Mae will be going to the Grosse Ile Animal Shelter sometime next week, and I'll be taking in 3 feral boys. A tuxie, orangie and black, who will stay with me so I can work with them and get them ready for adoption.

One of the women I work with trapping at the shelter has had them since July 23. So far, Randy (the orangie) and the tuxie are doing better. The black boy is going to need LOTS of handling, which I don't mind at all, since I have so much time on my hands lately (yup, BB&B cut my hours yet AGAIN to 11.5!!!! Nice, huh???)I'll probably go to the shelter on Monday and talk to Lora (The ACO) about it. I'm kind of excited about it.

There is no WAY I could try and handle them today though. I guess the residents of Grosse Ile think the shelter is a "petting zoo!!" They bring their little crumb snatchers in and let them run wild, chasing the kittens and cats. I actually had to go into the office and shut the door with each kitten in order to get peace and quiet. UGH!!! Those kids were monsters!

oh my goodness! I laughed out loud in an empty room! (sounded wierd!) poop on BB&B. (oh that's kinda a oxymoron or an irony or something isn't it?! ha). Are they doing poor buisness? I know I can't afford to shop there! But anyway, good luck with these little ones. Take the worst, wrap him up in your t-shirt, saftey pin him in tight, or use duct tape, and force him to spend an hour a day on your belly as you go about your house routines! (they actually make things you can buy to keep feral kittens on your stomach to help socialize them- there's a woman here in my town who is blind and makeshifts the same thing!). Force the petting and read read read yourself cross-eyed! Good luck and lots a fun! Have fun picking the duct tape off yourself! (kidding you know)

I'll have an answer tomorrow when the ACO gets back from vacation.

No disrespect to anyone here who has children, BUT...I absolutely cannot tolerate unbehaved children and stupid parents/nannies or both in this case, who stand around and try to reason with a 4 year old who's holding a 12 week old kitten by the throat while he's running through the room!!!

Fortunately, my new babies are caged and I wouldn't let them near ANY of them.

I really need to find Happy another place. She is literally terrorizing all my cats. I keep squirting her with water everytime she goes after one of them and then get fed up and put her back in her room where it's quiet and she's got her window hammock.

Who is happy? Why is she unhappy with others? Does she want you all to self? Explain. Maybe you should put her in baby stomach thing on you till she stops...(with semi-feral kitten- that'll teach Happy to know true happiness...) (kidding again! Hope your sense of humor is somewhat in tact today- I'm am happy that i am returning to regular routine tomorrow as dnc is over- Do you have cage at home for these 3 youngin's ??

Spoke to the ACO this morning. Happy Hannah Mae is on her way to the shelter this afternoon and I'm taking home possibly only 1 of the 3 ferals, as the other 2 have seemed to come around since I was last there.

Will know more when I get there.
