My sister's dog is at the vet's right now.
He lost three teeth when a homeless woman kicked him in the mouth.
My sis was walking Flip when the dog approached a hedgerow where the woman was hiding. She has been lurking around the neighbood for a while.
I wasn't there but I know the dog would just as soon lick you to death instead of biting you...My sis got into a row with the gal and suffered a split lip...The homeless gal was long gone by the time the sherriffs arrived.
Knowing MY sister, she gave back one hundred times a split lip.
When the vet examined the dog he saw that the dog had three teeth impacted by the blow and asked my sister what happened,
She explained to him the circumstances and the vet wanted to know if a police report had been filed...She said, "Yes".
When the vet called the substation to confirm my sister's side of the story she overheard he tell the officer on the other side of the line, "If you don't catch the woman, I will".
My sister is a single mom trying to make it on her own. When she asked about the costs the vet told her 'not to worry about it'-
he was more interested in justice rather than the work that he did.....
Nice to know that there are people out there with a heart

He'd have my business that's for sure! I was holding my breath reading this story too. Hope your sister and Flip get through this ordeal, and the woman is prosecuted and put at least in a mental hospital for evaluation.

she was hiding in the bushes and just jumped out and kicked the dog in the teeth? My god! She'll be picked up easily, she obviously is psychotic and off her meds and will have more incidents of violence... probably thought Flip was Satan or something...

Oh my goodness! That was so nice of her vet, but very odd circumstances indeed. Who hides in bushes to pop out and kick a dog in the mouth??!! Yikes! I hope someone picks her up.
Orchids to kind vet wanting justice! :D
Glad to hear your sister is ok and that Flip is feeling better!
**hugs**

Apparently, she has been stalking a family in the area who had hired her to watch over their kids:eek:
When they found out the she was unstable they let her go. She has been hiding aroung the complex and harrassing them-she has a fixation on the kids and want to run off with them.
When my sis and the dog approached she was moving to hide from them. She got ticked off the dog was nosing around when he heard the shrubs moving around. The complex security firm had run her off before, so she had taken to hiding out in the shrubs, waiting for the family.

At least you have a Name and can have a chance of charging her with assalut . It will get her in to a system to get help. And justice for your sister.

Yes, he seems like an awesome vet. It is good to know that there are some people out there that really care. I hope they catch her, and I hope all goes well with your sister and the dog. That must have been a very traumatic expirience for them!
