View Full Version : I'm Suspecting Horrible Virus, Not Broken Leg???

Another kitten from the woodpile gang has terribly swollen legs, both her front and back on one side of her body. Now I'm wondering if this is all viral and not a broken limb with Emerson? Has anyone else experienced this? I know I've heard of a virus that will cause swelling, but darned if I know where to even locate any info on it now. They all got some sub-q fluids, and have been on amoxi for several days now. They're all seeing the vets in the A.M, so maybe they can give me some insight. I'm certainly baffled by this turn of events.  :(

My friend (she's a vet), is coming over shortly. I'll ask her if she knows anything like that that would cause swelling of the limbs.

Poor things, poor you! This must be so worrisome. :(

Oh Jan, Poor you, poor little kitties. I have never heard of this type of virus before and I hope and pray that something can be done for it.

I hope that NoahsMommy's friend has some positive news for you.

Hang in there Jan.
(((((HUGS))))) on the way for you for support.

My friend said it sounds like an infection and that you should get those little ones seen.

Keep us updated :)

what in the heck!? Could it be late reaction to something they ingested outside? Ållergic reaction? Åre you on vet md putting in symptoms to see what comes up? Wish I had my darn cell phone!

Thanks NoahsMommy for asking your friend. Things don't look very good for the little girl. :( I've had them on amoxi for several days, but whatever this latest development is...it's scary to say the least. Their mom is very healthy looking, and has a good appetite, but the kittens all look like they want to die. Leslie, I think if it were a toxic reaction it would have cropped up a while ago. I got these kittens over three weeks ago, and they had a touch of conjunctivitis then, but otherwise were plump healthy romping kittens. I'll be getting them in first thing in the A.M if all goes as planned. Sure wish the Feline Hospital didn't cost an arm & two legs. :(

would feline hospital take them as patients tonight for emergancy care? I mean, Dr Cat Ternes I'm sure would give you overnight advise if you are a "patient" (are you?) I can't remember- think quick!
