Mi cat Sam has major behavoral prollems and i dont no waht too do he peas on teh bed and humps mi stufed ainmals wat shud i du he gos to teh humane society if he dosnt stop! Tee hee. Just kidding. :p

No...seriously...Sammy has been developing some odd behavioral issues and I would like to stop them as soon as possible. Otherwise we will have to give him to the humane society, ha ha, yeah right, just kidding again, he'll never go there! One problem he has had since we've had him is humping. He is constantly humping everything in sight. He was neutered when he was 12 weeks old, if I remember correctly, and has continued humping. My mom, dad, and I have all woke up in the middle of the night, having our legs humped by Sammy. :o Disgusting. I usually "kick" him off my leg. He also humps my green fuzzy blanket- it's his favorite thing to hump, how pleasant. Mom also caught him humping my stuffed yellow lab. Niiiice. It is getting EXTREMELY annoying and bothersome. He also bites when he humps, that's how he wakes us up, it hurts so bad!

Now today, we discovered he urinated all over the catnip pad we received from the PT Gift Swap. It was laying on my parents bed. My mom walked in there and laid on the bed, the pad is saturated along with the sheets next to the pad. I'm pretty sure it was Sammy, even though Dudley was in the bedroom, Sammy was washing his crotch outside the doorway. Why would Sammy do this? He's NEVER had an accident in the house, even when he was a tiny kitten. Do you think he just got so siked up on catnip that he peed or do you think it's more serious than that!?

Any advise? Thanks!!! :D

Aren't you being nawtee today!! LOL!:D

About Sammy, is this the first time he has peed like that? If so I would think it was just that potent catnip and I'd make sure he wasn't it around it again. It won't take much to start a bad habit.

As for the humping, Ripley used to get amourous with an old Oscar the Grouch handpuppet. It got to be a problem when he was dragging it out in front of company so we buried Oscar at the bottom of a closet. After that I woke up one morning to find Ripley humping the wadded up blanket beside me on the bed. He would do that every once in a while for a few years then finally stopped. I guess he needs kitty viagra for it now because with old age all the humping stopped.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice but maybe someone else with a more um, virile cat can help. Good luck.

Laura,
I almost jumped through the screen twice at you!!! Don't even joke about giving Sammy away. :(

The humping thing, well, Tex is my only cat that does it/and still does it. Like you, I used to get freaked/grossed out. Now? I just ignore it. I do 'encourage' certain things, like he loves to hump one of my stuffed animals sitting on the bed (Clifford the big red dog, of all things). I just think it isn't that big of a deal, and yeah, he used to do it to my leg at night, too.:D

The peeing on the catnip, if it was just one isolated incident, ignore it. Maybe he did become soooo unsettled with the 'nip, and lost control.

I'd be mortified if any of my animals started humping things! I wish I had some brilliant advice for you. I'm thinking maybe the catnip was a little potent, but other than that I'm kind of at a loss. Maybe a trusty squirt bottle? You hump, you get nailed! (ooh.. that didn't sound so good... :) ) Its worth a shot, and if it doesn't work, you won't be any worse off... instead, you'll just a wet humping cat instead of a dry humping cat... haha! get it? LoL sorry... in an odd mood today. :P Good luck! Let us know what happens....

YLL ~

Can't help with the KAT's *humpin* :(
:o (No matter HOW I try to write that, doesn't look good...)

Boots never had THAT problem!

As for the *pee* problem ~

I'd suggest you keep a Close Eye on him when he's using
the litter box - *WATCH* for signs of *straining*
or any difficulty in urinating.

You want to be sure he's not suffering from a
Urinary Infection or Blockage!
Cat's with an Infection or Blockage sometimes *go* in the
wrong places in an attempt to *tell you* that they have a problem.

The first part of your post had me holding my breath...then peeing myself! :D :D :D As far as the 'humping' behaviour, it's usually a dominance thing, not sexual in anyway. I'd ignore it. Peeing is a whole other can of worms! If it was a one time incident then chances are it was drug induced...catnip frenzy!;) Be sure to clean the wet areas up with a good cleaner, that won't leave urine scent behind. White vinegar works well, and is cheap, but the majority of the pee should be blotted up first. Then saturate the areas with the vinegar and let it air dry. Hopefully such nawty behaviour won't be repeated! ;)

I haven't had ...ummm...humping problems iththe kitties but I had dog that did that all the time! I had this huge yellow stuffed banana that my hubby one for me at the fair and he eventually shredded that thing from the constant humping! I never did figure out to stop him so I'm going to be no help here! I just want you to know that I can sympathize.
