Invermectin is a medician used to cure horses of parasites. I was treating the rats for mites. I put the meds up high in my closet, where I thought Baby couldent reach. I guess she could.
she chewed the whole toob. Is she going to be ok??? GULP!!
Now I have to go out and spend another 30$ to buy another toob of it to finish treating my rats mites... UGH

Jynelle, I think you need to call your vet. Most of us wouldn't know the side effects of something like this.

This is what is in Heartguard and other heartworm meds for dogs. You need to call your vet now, Jynelle; right away.

Yes Jynelle...please call the vet ASAP!! I've seen what an overdose of Ivermectin can do, so I hope you have caught it in time...
**hugs** and prayers...

She ate it like five days ago. I was looking for it to give my rats their dosage just yesterday. I couldent find it anywhere!!!... I asked my mom and she said that she found a toob thing that looked like something you would use to cure a yeast infection in the back yard like a week ago... I said AHH thats my rats medication. And I didnt know if it was poinsonis so I thought I would post. Five days have past so I dont believe anything is going to happen now. I did call the vet and he said that since nothing has happened yet, and it would have been well digested by now, there isnt really anything that we should worrie about.

I'm so glad everything is ok with Baby, Jynelle! You had me worrying!!!!! :o
Please put the new meds under lock and key. This particular medication can be VERY fatal if overdosed. Its extremely dangerous.

If I had anywhere in the house where I could put it under "lock and key" I would. but I dont.. :(..
I havent even bought the new meds yet, because I have to wait till Friday, when I get paid.

Could you put it in a dresser drawer, or something enclosed? Medicine Cabinet?

I'm glad Baby is OK. Jynelle - I think I know how you feel. You just can't trust those little ;) furry things.
Kirby got on the table and got Dick's tube of poison ivy medicine. We caught him shortly after, but he did manage to get one tooth through the tube. He's my climber - there is no table or surface too high for him.
Only good thing - it's taught Dick to not leave stuff (pens, pencils, screwdrivers, medicine, etc.) on tables
