Piggies are so very precious to me, and after reading your sweet, sweet words, Einstein, I'm awash in tears. I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Flake. What a sweet piggie he was and a POTD almunus, too.

What a brave little boy you are Einstein, accepting the affirmities that life has dealt you with such courage and grace, choosing to revel in all that is good in life instead of letting your disadvantages get you down. God bless your dear, wonderful, amazing Grandma for doing everything in her power to make your life such a happy one, your dedicated vet for doing all in her/his power to keep you healthy and brother Jackie for being your best bud and wheeker mate:)

It just dawned on me Einstein how fitting your name is, for you are one genius of a piggie...unlike some of us humans, smart enough to realize what's really important in life:) Einstein, I wish I could give you a gentle hug and place a teeny kiss on each of your beautiful eyes, your soft, furry ears. I hope your Grandma will do that for me! And Jackie, you may be a man of few words, but that adorable face of yours speaks volumes:D And why bother chattering when you've got such a chatty brother:D He can be your eyes and ears and you his voice!

Oh what dear little piggies you are! Einstein, even with all of your physical limitations it sounds like your little piggie spirit is totally whole. Your grandma is one wonderful person and those home-made meals sound really yummy, even if you do have to eat them through a syringe!

Jackie what a special little fellow you are too. I am so happy that dear little Einstein has such a good buddy to look out for him. I love your little yawn. Wow Jackie what big toofies you have! :)

Einstein, you really do know how to relate to humans! You have captured the hearts and devotion of those with whom you live and now you have done the same here at Pet of the Day. What an awesome and brave boy you are. I wish in my heart of hearts that I could touch you just once and maybe some of your inspiring qualities would rub off on me. Your relationship with your brother, Jackie is even more amazing. A lesser soul would have resented a brother who became a mother's favorite, but not you little buddy. You moved on and you and Jackie became the symbiotic pair.

Jackie, you funny, funny boy. I love your dear, sweet face and yes, your vulnerability too. I am so happy that you and Einstein have found the best home in the hemisphere, because indeed you have. May long and healthy lives be your reward for being Pets of the Day.

Jackie and Einstein, I have just read your precious story and how helpful you are to each other. Einstein, I love the way you let us share your lives, what brought you into your loving home and how you function now. It certainly sounds as if there is not one thing your human "grandma" wouldn't do for you. And you are still getting to enjoy life, regardless of your disabilities.

I am so proud of you, Einstein, and want to congratulate you and Jackie, on being precious and very, very special Pets of the Day!! :)

Aww, I got all sick and by the time I got better, I'd missed Einstein and Jackie being posted! Well, now it's their birthday (or the very early morning after, for me) so at least that's a good time to find them on the site.

I had to move because I'm starting grad school, so now Einy and Jackie live in a bigger cage, and Einy goes to a different vet who sticks obnoxious things in his mouth and messes with his teeth. The boys love to get on the shelf of their cage and rumble at the girls next door (their mother, Suzi, and another female, Cuddles). The girls are totally uninterested in male attention even from such handsome fellows, and yell at them for being so rude.

Unfortunately, Einstein and Jackie's stepfather Doom became sick with lymphoma and leukemia, and even though he struggled valiantly with it, he had to be put to sleep on April 19th, 2004, because he was just so sick from all his tumors. All my pigs miss him, even Jackie, who never liked him very much. (Or at least Jackie was upset after Doom died, and acted out by biting Einstein on the ear.)

Einstein's favorite vegetables are parsley, cilantro, and carrot greens, all of which he can manage to eat by himself. Jackie likes everything except tomatoes and green bell peppers.
