Please meet Denver. Things are running smoothly. It will be a slow introduction, as Denver is timid and BIG. I don't want Cinnamon to be horrified. To confuse matters more, I am dog sitting McDoogle this week.

This is Cheezer. He rides in my car with me each day. I thought he too, should have his debut.

More photos later. Denver aka Big Boy, was rescued from his herd of meat rabbits. Yes, I hate to even whisper those words. He was raised by a turtle rescue group in Manhattan....then when their offices moved from Manhattan to NJ, they had to re-home 26 rabbits. Denver is an off spring of the original six rescued meat rabbits. He is of mixed breed. He IS BIG! I think he will eat me out of house and home!

Dencer looks cute and I am sure he is very happy to have escaped that horrible fate:D

And I am so happy to see Cheezer again:) Cheezer accompanied us on our Maine tour from Burlington because he wanted to see the sea. Although he was very happy to be back with his rat-mom (I feel that "meowmie" wouldn't be adequate:D) we will furrever keep him in our hearts:D

I'm so glad you and Denver are home safe and sound back at Camp Vermont. I am looking forward to hearing about the intro between Denver and Cinnamon and of course it must be covered *live with pictures* from the scene! I imagine Miley is  at the latest family member. She has seen a lot of changes in her little kitty life and is probably wondering 'where does Mom get all these critters? I must lock the door from the inside next time she takes an early morning trip.' :D

Big bunnies are the bestest in Piper's not-so-humble opinion! ;)
(His Mommy's and Grandpa's opinion too.)

Congrat Denver & SAS!

Welcome Denver! Do you think he is bigger than the cats??

Jen, Sallyanne said that Denver is 6 pounds. That makes him bigger than Juni Rose and Chloe and I think as big as Miley.:D

Well, it didn't go so smoothly. I hadn't planned on this first confrontation, at all. Denver was running around the kitchen, exploring and I didn't think Cinnamon was interested in meeting him. Moments later, while I was in the living room, I heard a commotion in the kitchen and Cinnamon was jumping on Denver, trying to bite him. Cinnamon had lost a lot of fur, although nothing shows - no naked spots. She has a ton of fur so she could spare some. Denver is fine. I think they were off to a bad start. Tonight I will purchase a second fence and make sure they both get to meet each other, on equal turf, when I finally get rid of the dog I am house sitting. Is everyone confused now? I am.

Denver loves to be petted. Cinnamon is not so thrilled with it, so there is a contrast for sure.

I will keep you posted. I am sure it will be fine eventually.

Oh Sallyanne: I'm getting nervous here. Have any kitties been involved or is it just the civil war in the rabbit population?

Who would have thought that shy Cinnamon bites big Denver?

Paws crossed here:D

Barbara, the cats are not interested in the new rabbit. It could be that his size (bigger than the cats) makes them not interested. I think Cinnamon is not wanting a rabbit to take over her turf. Once she gets over that, I think it will be fine. It is usual behavior for female rabbits ... so I am not worried.

I brought the dog to work with me to day, to cut down on the pet population at Camp Vermont, for the day!

I'm just now catching up on all the excitement at Camp Vermont.
Congratulations on the new bunny addition!
I hope that things calm down soon and that your two bunnies get along.
It was also nice to see Cheezer, my daughter always liked to see Cheezer in your car.;)

Oh my gosh. They hate each other. It will be a long road. I am happy that the fencing is keeping them apart and that they do not jump the fence like cats do. Maybe someday they will be friends but right now it is out and out WAR! I believe I was told that it should be better within a month! Where is that calendar?

Oh well. I am not nearly as stressed as when I brought Tiberius home and he ATE Miley on a daily basis! This team of rabbits is a far cry from Mr. T - aka Tiberius and Miley, Friday night at the fights!

I will keep you posted.

The main difference between rabbits and cats may be that rabbits are vegetarians, so they may not eat each other.

Please keep your calm and try to relax. A pity we can't have a glass of wine together:(
