Cranker Plays

We visited my parents in WI last weekend and as some of you might remember, Cranker is my mom's Ragdoll kitty. We were sitting at the kitchen table talking about kitties (I was showing her PT) when the Cranker came in the room. He's soooo pretty, but he's such a cranker that I don't dare touch him, even when he rubs his tail across my legs. So she was just telling me how he never plays. He never really has played, even when he was younger (he's 10 now). So she's telling me all about how he doesn't play, when I hear this noise. I look down and he's going bonkers on my book bag! He was so getting into it and I just happened to have my camera handy, so without further ado, here's the Cranker having a blast on my book bag. :D

Uummm....ok. It just won't be my hand that reaches down to try and pet him. ;)

Here's another video I took awhile ago - before I knew how to post videos. You can hear him cranking here, but it's not a bad crank. Usually all I have to do is look at him and he gets all upset and yes, he hisses and bites. But to my mom and dad he's the best kitty around and they can do practically anything to him. It's just the rest of the world he doesn't like for some reason.

Oh, PS, that's my niece practicing her clarinet in the background.

He really is gorgeous! My cats are not the same around anyone except Mike and me. They are scared of everyone else. I think if someone moved in permanantly they would come around, but otherwise to the outside world my cats probably seem unfriendly :(. Maybe Cranker is just cared of everyone like my guys. Plus when you look that good, you don't have to be friendly

I love the carpet sample floor! I've always wanted to do that with all of the samples I get, but I onlt get yucky boring office type carpet! :p It really looks coold... and then if a stain happens, just rip it up and put a new one down! The ever changing style! :D :D

Thanks everybody. I think it's more that he thinks people are invading his territory. And my younger brother still lives there and they do not get along, so it's only my mom and dad that are allowed to adore him up close. Everyone else can ooh and aah and him, but from a distance if you please. :)

Catnapper, yes, I like that "carpet" too. My mom made that when we first moved in the house 32 years ago. I don't remember for sure, but I think the original is gone and this is the second one? But you're right, something goes wrong, rip it out and replace it. I think it would be the perfect carpert for cat puke. :p ;) :D

SEE??? Cranker DOES play!!! He just doesn't like regular toys:D He is discrimating! Any certain things qualify as *toys* to Cranker;)

Awww!!! That last video, where he meows right into the camera in the end, had me going "awww!!!!!!!" at my desk at work!!!
