Sophie goes in for her final set of kitten booster shots today. If you can remember, please keep fingers and paws crossed that she doesn't freak out like she did last time!! Hopefully everything will go well and she won't bite the vet this time!! ;)

You be good little sophie! Your gonna get a bad name at the white coats! It will only sting for minute and then you can go back home and take it out on Tito!http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif
Did Sophie's daddy get stuck with the "adventure" again?

No, I am taking her this time. CCL, I don't know how it is where you live, but I have no power and there's traffic lights out everywhere. Did you get to work OK today? Her vet is on Bardstown Rd. so I am sure it will take forever to get there  But I will be sure to give Sophie kissies from you all and I am definitely bringing some Temptations and toys with me to distract her from the needle!! :D

We were without power until noon today. We lost everything around 9:30 last night. Are you sure the vets have power? I did hear that there are over 85,000 still without power at noon. I didn't make it to work today because it was vital that hubby didn't miss today (people on vacation) so I stayed up and dozed in the chair all night. I kept turning on the flash light to keep an eye on the battery wall clock!
We have lots of trees down in our area but fortunately for us it's just a lot of big limbs in our yard. Are you sure you will even be able to get there? I know some areas were really hit hard last night.
I know I decided that I never want to be in a hurricane!!! If we had MILD hurricane winds in that storm last night then I never want to see strong ones!!

CCL, thanks for reminding me to call the vets do see if they power! They do, which is good because this was the only appointment they had open for a couple of weeks, and I didn't want Sophie to get behind on her shots. I will be able to get there but I will have to go a back way due to closed roads and traffic. Glad your power is back on. I sure hope ours is back on when I get home from work in a couple hours!! Otherwise I am going to start freaking out about the cats dehydrating and being hot all day without A/C. That storm was really bad. I was seriously considering taking my boyfriend and the cats into the bathroom and covering our heads!!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes!! I will update when I get home. :D :D :D

PS I can't believe I have over 500 posts!!  :D :D

Good luck little Sophie butt! Be good and I'm sure you'll get lots of treats. Of course, I'm sure you'll get treats even if you're bad since you're such a little cutie pie. :D

Lizzielou & CCL, I didn't realize you guys got hit so hard with that storm! I know a tornado touched down in Southern Illinois, but they didn't say anything about how bad it was after that. Glad you guys are OK and it's only limbs and branches down - whew!

I did hear that some manufacturing plant (I think it was) had a direct hit from the tornado here. I didn't hear that anyone was hurt or killed so they must all be ok. But the tornado was a bad one, something like 1/4 mile wide and about 4 miles long. A couple of farms got hit also, but all in all I don't think anyone got hurt, which is the good news.

Again, glad you guys are ok! :)

Thanks Debbie! We had horrible winds! The wind speeds reached up to 75 miles per hour and that is what took out so many trees and power lines. Plus we got 4 to 5 inches of rain within a few hours. It was very scary for a while and then came round two several hours later! I HATE STORMS! I did see on the news where the tornadoe touched down in Illinois but I don't think we had any confirmed. Just really really windy!!!
I don't think we had any serious injuries either so all in all I guess we were all lucky.
LizzieLou I hope your power is back on to. It's rough with no electricity...that means...NO PT!!! EEEEEEEK!  http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/eek.gif

First of all, I am posting this from home - yes the power is back ON!!!! YAY!!! :D :D :D

Second - got back from the vet's about an hour ago. Sophie was fairly good. While we were waiting, she nuzzled all over me and purred like a motorboat. Guess I smelled like home. ;) When we went into the exam room, she got nervous - I could tell because she was shaking. :( She did really good when the assistant came in to weigh her - she's 4.1 pounds now :) - and even purred some! But as soon as the vet walked in, she started hissing her little kitten hiss. The vet was really good about it, he put a little towel over her and gave her her shot very quickly. She growled while he was checking her over, but I distracted her with a half of a Whiskas Temptations. ;) :D After he let her go, she hopped back in her carrier and was fine. So, no attempts at biting anyone this time, which was good. :D

There are two vets at my office, a man and a woman. My boyfriend said the first time he took her in, she saw the woman and was fine. The second and third times, she had the man and hissed & growled. So maybe she was just good the first time because it was her first time, but next time I'll ask for the woman vet just to see what happens. :)

Thanks for all the kind thoughts & concern, everyone! :) Her next appointment will be the week of Aug. 23rd for her spay!

Glad Sophie made it through her office visit with flying colors. I saw the radar last night and thought of you all in Louisville area. We got allot of wind. Trash can and plastic cart ended up in flower bed upside down. Usually takes pretty good wind to do that to these items. We noticed today allot of tree debris in yards more than normal. Thankfully, power stayed on and didn't even flicker.

Sophie, you are such a GOOD GIRL!

I bet that white coat was shook up after the storm and your being a good girl was very reassuring for him! :D

I'm glad everything went well with Sophie and the white coats. I'm also glad to hear you guys in KY are okay from the storms. We had bad winds here and lots of trees down but nothing too serious, thank goodness.

My goodness, I hadn't heard about that bad weather up there! Glad all came out in the end for everybody!

Sophie, we all hate those white coat visits but we have to do it to keep you happy and well.. Us humans have to have those nasty ole shots too if that is any comfort to you!!
