Does anyone have pictures of yawning cats? I think it looks hilarious! :)
I was lucky to take two yawning photos of Luna recently:

Anyone else? :)

LOL LOL I love it! They certainly do look funny like that. I have yet to catch my boys in yawning action...

The first thing I thought of was Spencer! When I first started at Pet Talk, I thought it was a big LION roar!
Maybe Spencer would like us to think it is...

Pam, that's my favorite of Trev - but recently love the one of the cat and dog at the door.

Spencer - scary....either that or he's singing an aria!

And this is my favorite of Ritz! She is the epitome of coziness and warmth on what appears to be such a miserable day! :) Nice photography job too!

Awwwww, Pam, Ritz and I are flattered that you reposted this pic! She is a poser at times! This is the sweet Ritz, unlike her recent vet visit (cat behavior post). Maybe I should take this picture with me to the vet to prove how calm she can be! :)

By the way, Pam, if it isn't too indelicate a question, how much does Trev weigh? He is just the quintessential big bruiser tomcat, but I'm guessing is also a sweetie pie.

Kirsten, the second one of Luna looks like she is mocking someone....Hah, I'll show YOU who's boss!

No, Trevor doesn't mind me disclosing his weight because he likes to think of himself as "big boned." :D He was at one time 22 lbs.  He is now a svelte 20 lbs. I switched from regular IAMS to the Weight Management IAMS. It's hard to tell exactly how much he eats, though, because he shares his crunchies with Andybut I think he probably eats the "lion's share!" By the way, Trev and Andy both took a double take at your pretty Ritz! ;)

Not COMPLETELY appropriate here, since she's attempting to eat her new collar off (we don't like innovation here), but my Livvy sort of looks like she's yawning in this one:

I don't know, Spencer, Spence's yawn always makes me think his jaw is going to unhinge...

Amberlee, that picture reminds me of the time , about 1970, when my cat, Jerry, was licking and cleaning his chest. Suddenly a lower canine tooth caught in the buckle of his leather collar. Fortunately he was sitting right in front of me when it happened. I had to cut the collar off. He never wore a similar collar again.

Dear Freckles,

Oh no, I hope Jerry wasn't hurt in the accident. How wonderful you were right there. I'm generally worried that their collars are too tight, but looks like too loose is a menace, too! Thanks for the head's up.

When Lamoni yawns, he looks like one of those Pez dipensers. His jaw stays level and his whole head appears to rotate backwards. Looks like some alien from another planet. We call this "split head".

After a good yawn he sometimes does "propeller head". He shakes he head so fast that his face becomes a blur and you can hear his ears flapping. He stretches up. It looks as though his head has become a helicopter and is trying to take off. He stretches so far that his front legs come up off the ground. One time this went so far that he was standing on his hind feet.

All of this yawning is making me sleepy! I think I will turn in for the night. Merry Christmas and have a prosperous New Year.

These are all such great fun! Thanks to you all for the posts. While it's close, I think Pesto has got to be the champ...his/her(?) jaw is hinged like a boa constrictor's. You 'bout to swallow a nice big dawg, baby?

She usually doesn't sit in my rocker, but I had the heating pad there and it almost put her to sleep.

tuxluvr, I am sitting here cracking up! LOL LOL :D :D I noticed her whiskers in that first one too! :D :D

And that second one  I don't know how you get such good close ups, Niina. :D

This thread is hiliarious even though I can't see half the pictures. Just little red x's. Must have been another photo page that cut us off. :(

I don't have any good pictures of Tubby or Peanut yawning, but Peanut really looks goofy when she yawns. Her ears go back and she gets this real strange shape to her face. I think maybe it's because she's a little lopsided to begin with because she lost one of her "fangs" a few years ago and it's like her lip is always getting caught in her mouth or something. But she really looks goofy when she yawns, and Terry always cracks up when he sees her. :D

LOL LOL Niina, you weren't kidding about those precious long whiskers of Kitty's!! I knew I could count on you to post some pics!:D :D :D Thanks for the laugh this morning!! I'm still chuckling over those! It almost looks as if Kitty has a flip-top head!!
Kitty says, "I am woman here me RRRROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR!"

Sometimes Tubby will meow and yawn at the same time. Comes out kind of like meeeeyyyyyooooowwwwnnnnnn

He does it a lot for Terry, so that's there little secret that when Tubby meyawns, Terry gives him a treat.

Anybody else have a kitty that yawns and meows at the same time? (kinda hard to get the sound in a picture) ;)
