Well he's sick but nothing he won't recover from. With all the really bad things happening to PeeWee and now poor Elvis I feel guilty for being so upset and asking for prayers. I just flip out when they are sick.

Poor Pepper Jack had a temp of 105 and the gland in his throat is HUGE! The doc was surprised he was eating at all with that throat. He got the famous fever shot, a pill to also keep the fever down, and a big nasty shot of penicillan (sp). I felt sorry for him because the doc bent the needle trying to get it through is thick hide on his neck! Poor baby didn't even make a sound!

Anyway, he has to take liquid medicine daily and one more pill for the fever on Friday. I am hoping he will feel better from the shot in a few hours. He came straight home and got lots to drink but nothing to eat yet.

Now I know why the poor little guy felt so bad. Bless his heart! He is getting tons of love and attention but that's nothing new. He will be ok I'm sure. Thanks to all of you for your concern and careing. I'm now going to focus all my thoughts and prayers on Elvis. Bless you all for helping me get through a very stressful and looooooooooong day!:) :) http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/smile.gif

So happy to hear it is something fixable. Once that nasty infection starts to subside, he'll eat again. Maybe he'd like some ice cream - cold and easy to swallow :)

Phew, I'm so relieved now that it's nothing worse!! - Even though the tonsilitis and sore throat probably makes poor Pepper Jack feeling very bad!! But I've read so many bad news here tonight that I'm glad this is something treatable!

The fever probably made him dizzy and that's why he was walking to strangely and stare. I hope he's better soon!

So, Pepper Jack, be a good boy and take your meds, they will make you feel better!

Headscritchies to you and ((HUGS)) to your meowmie!

Whew!! It's so scary when they are ill. Glad it's nothing serious and good ole PJ will be back to himself in no time. What a good meowmie you are!

Thanks you guys!
Kirsten I agree about all the bad news and I think that is why it scared me so bad. You know how things go sometimes when bad things start they just keep going for awhile.
I just hope and pray Elvis will turn out ok.

Glad it is something meds can treat easily.

Don't feel guilty for being upset and asking for prayers. It's very possible that those prayers are what made this nothing more serious.

Take good care of Pepper Jack and give him extra scritchies for me. Please keep us updated on how he is doing too.

I'm so glad to hear it's nothing overly serious - whew! I was worried there too. ;)

And I have to ditto the "don't feel guilty for worrying" theme. You know we all worry to death when one of our babies is not feeling well. Nothing to apologize for there.

Now, will you please give him hugs and smoochies from me for being such a good boy at the vet? Bent needle - ouchie!

Lori I never thought of like that and SHAME ON ME for not seeing it that way!!! We all know PT prayers do so much good and I should have realized that. Thank you so much for putting that into the proper perspective for me.

Thanks to you all and OK I will quit feeling guilty. Your right I should have been worried! He is really sick. Poor little guy is just laying around still. I was hoping that shot would bounce him back some but not yet. I'm sure we have a day or two still before seeing some improvement.

With all his symptoms it's going to take a day to feel better. I bet by tomorrow he will be back to his old self. :) Glad everything worked out ok. :)

Aww! Poor Pepper Jack, a kitty sore throat, eh? I guess they don't have Luden's or Vick's drops for cats and asking a cat to gargle can be difficult  I'm glad it's something that's relatively easily treatable (how is he about taking meds without you losing an arm?). I hope he's feeling better soon. The M's send gentle head bumpies and snuggles.

Thank you God for letting Pepper Jack have something treatable!!

((((CCL)))) we are all on edge with Pee Wee and Elvis. We ALL are! We would not be normal cat Meowmies if we weren't I don't think and yes, I believe God is the reason Pepper Jack will be OK - He wanted us to ask Him!!! It's always nicer when we get the answer we like though:(

I agree with Grace - I think Pepper Jack should get a bit of ice cream:D

My vet told me that it helps if you put an ice pack in a carrier (and cover it with a towel) then put the cat in the carrier to bring the fever down. I never had to do it with Chance because the shot took care of his fever fast, and he was on an ice pack at the vet for an hour.

I'm glad Pepper Jack is on the road to recovery! :D

Please keep up posted on how he is feeling. --- Meg

My crew is here while I'm on the computer and they all asked me to send head bumpies to Pepper Jack. {{{ bump, bump, bump}}}

Oh CCL I'm so happy to hear about little PJ. Thank God it's something that's treatable with meds but I sure feel sorry for the little guy. They actually bent the needle?

Please pass along some kisses and rubs from me and I'm sending you lots of hugs.

Oh, thank goodness. I’m so glad he’s ok! He reminds me so much of Rizzo that I get knots in my stomach just thinking of him being sick. CCL, you’re a great meowmie for worrying and for taking him to the doctor before it got really bad!

Poor Pepper Jack, baby. Sore throats are something we humans can sympathize with! You just rest up and feel lots better very soon, ok? And you’re a good boy for being so brave at the doctor’s office! *rubs and snuggles*
