Not sure if you all remember this, but a few weeks ago, I posted a thread about my Josie scooting her butt. I was so worried because we were moving and I was going to be forced into keeping her in a carpeted room.

Well . . . you'll never believe this, but we've been in our new home for about 3 weeks and she hasn't scooted once!

So here's what I'm thinking . . . we were renting before in a place where our landlord more or less hated his tenants having animals. We had new carpet (where she was scooting) and I'm really wondering they'd used something like scotch guard or some chemicals on the carpet . . . something making her itch.

Since we've moved, she stays clean (she never did before) and she hasn't scooted 1 time that I'm aware of.

Just thought it was wierd how she quit cold turkey . . .

So my advice to the butt scooting kitties out there . . . just move! (kidding of course)

Glad to hear she's not scootin' anymore. :)

It could be something with the chemicals in the carpet. I guess I have no other explanation so that sounds like a good one to me. The good news is she stopped. Way to go Josie! :D

Great that the problem was solved so simply (?). Now, isn't that odd?? Whatever the reason, you can bet she is happy about it!

So glad to hear that she as stopped the "Butt Scootin' Boogie".:D As for my Speckles, well, moving is not an option. I plan to be here until I retire, so I guess I'll just have to save up for a new carpet
