Your favorite breed of dog and why

Hi!I am a new member here and only being 13,I'm sure you understand that I'm a little curious.As you can tell,I'm quite a dog lover.I would have to say that my favorite breed are the shelties because I've grown up with them and witnessed their unique smartness and sweetness (a couple of their best qualities).I just wanted to see what everyone liked best.Thanks a lot! :D

Welcome! My favorite breed is the German Shepherd. Why, well they are very intelligent and versatile. I do agility, obedience and tracking with Iris.

If I did herding with her, she'd probably be really good at that. When I had a rabbit, she'd try to herd it while it was in it's cage! :D

my favorite breeds are GSDs (common abreviation for German Shepherd Dogs) and Rottweilers. i want to learn more about the Saarloos.

and i am a huge fan of wolf mixes. especially GSD-wolf mixes.

My favorite breed (s) are:

Labs, because they are so smart, sweet, and intelligent, Golden Retrievers, because they are also very smart, sweet, and loving, Border Collies because they are very smart, good in Agility, and fun, GSD's, because they are to smart, and intelligent, and, of course, Pit Bulls!

I have a Black Lab, named Sadie, who is 5 years old. I do Agility and Obedience, and a little Flyball with Sadie. And again, Welcome! :)

Hello, I have also grown up with shelties, 6 of them :eek: sadly my parent now only have two. But I'll be honest they are not my fave breed... because... I LOVE BEAGLES !!! along with just about every other hound. Why because of thier gentleness, thier love, thier eagerness to always please, they are keen, smart, always happy and how can you forget those lovable hound dog eyes and ears and because I have two of them :D

We've got two favorites here: Australian Shepherds, and good ol' fashioned mutts! Eli's our first Aussie, and we love the brains, humor, athleticism, and devotion of the breed. They're amazing! Mutts are wonderful because they're such unique specimens: Kobie attracts a lot of attention from folks wondering what the heck she is. :D

My favorite breed is Labs. I'm kind of partial to the black Lab. I've never owned one but the ones I've seen are so loveable and they have such sweet faces, that you just can't help but love them. There are many breeds that I really love but there is only one on the very top of my list...that is my mixed breed, Graham :)

My very favorite purebreed is by far the GSD, they are so magnificant, bright, easy to train, noble, brave and versatile.

I really love the Manchester Terrier. Some day I would really like to have one of these little guys - anyone know where I can get one - don't think I've ever seen one advertized here. Hi petperson, I'm 13 too.
I can't choose just one breed! I love all dogs! why? i'm just a dog person and dogs are my best friend since I don't really make the grade socially in school. Dogs will just love you unconditionally.

Hey! My favorite breed would have to be shelties too. My sheltie ,Teddy, is very sweet well trained sometimes active and loves to bark! We love him to death . Injoy the boards these will probly be the nicest people you will ever meet.

They are beautiful and very smart.
They have short hair which is easier to take care of. They are definitely people dogs -meaning they love to be around people all the time. :D They are also very hyper/energetic.

I have more than one favorite breed. I love beagles. They're so cute, sweet and lovable with those floppy ears! :) I also like mix breeds. Both of my puppies are mixes. There's such a feeling of accomplishment to save a puppy from a shelter. Since most people want a purebred it's even better to save a mix. They also usually have less inherited health problems.
My husbands favorite breed is Rodesian Ridgebacks. They're beautiful and very active. He loves that they are tough enough to take on lions! Typical guy, huh?! :p He's a cutie though!

Hi, as a pet sitter I get the plesure to look after all kinds of dogs. The most favorite dog I have looked after is the Irish wolfhound. But my favorite breed is the King Charles spaniel.

Can't honestly say I could ever pick one over another as my favorite! Which ever breed is in front of me at the moment is my favorite!! They are all so special in their own wonderfu way. "All Americans" really melt my heart. They are so vulnerable and often get tossed aside and are the forgotten "breed." But many people I know find these special doggies to be the "best dog I ever had!" I have a yellow Labbie Star and Husky/Shep Cody. Since we love being outdoors and "in the water," their breeds fit in well with our lifestyle. I feel I have been blessed with the best! And as everyone here knows, I just can't resist those Labbies....Athletic, gentle, intelligent, heroic and I love the "clown" in them!:D Welcome to Pet Talk, PetPerson!:)

My favorites are GSD mixes. My two heart dogs have been a GSD/Sheltie or Lab mix and a GSD/Greyhound or Whippet mix. I'm waiting for my heart puppy who will be a GSD/??? mix.

Hi, I'm new and well...I'd have to say my favorite is Siberian Huskies. Always has been, and now I own two of them. They are Ghost and Rowan...I don't have any pics of Rowan yet...soon though...I think they are beautiful and intellegent. They can be a handful but they're worth it. Ghost is my first and she's so sweet. They have a great tempermant and are good with kids which was another reason I wanted one.

Right now I have a beagle, a collie/lab mix, a spaniel/lab mix, and a beagle/lab mix (not sure on that one yet). Not to mention my 4 cats and some fish. I do not have a favorite breed, all animals are my favorite.

my favorite breed of dog is of course any LABRADORS, DUH , It is so easy to recognize their wonderful sweetness, intelegence, and loving traits, they are truly, the best dogs in the world, I know they are, they are so sweet, I have one, named sandy, you can read about her in Dog breeds----what's your dogs name----pg.7, I encourage you to read about her, she is the BEST, and you cant argue with that!!!!!!:D :cool: you can also read about her in dog breeds---what types of games does your dog play--not sure what page, but you can check, anyway, if youve never had a lab, I really truly from the bottom of my heart, I swear they are the BEST dogs, and just one more thing to say Labs Rock does anybody else love labs????:cool:

well, i dont own dogs myself, but hands down, Alaskan Malamute
Very beautiful dog, extremely loyal to one master, and as far as i know, the closest relative to the wolf that has been domesticated, and i LOVE wolves.
