That's awful! :( I always knew I hated that man.

I'm glad money is more important than the lives of possible family companions.

I don't understand why these politicians don't do more to prevent all the animals that are homeless...I live in california and our local shelter is already a death house...it is heartbreaking...why don't they make it a felony not to spay or neuter unless you are a registered breeder?

our shelter isn't much better. they only have like 2 weeks to be adopted. i totally agree with it being agianst the law to not have your dog spayed or neuterd. my friend just had a litter of puppies just because they don't want to spend the mney to get them fixed. they sold the puppies because both the parents were pruebreed doxies and they might even breed them agian.......they are NOT registerd!

This is already in the dog house where you can properly reply. Still can't express my exact feelings, though.

Here's a copy of the email I sent him:
I am appalled and upset with your pending ruling in reference to stray animals. It's hard enough on them as it is and with this ruling, a drastic amount will never find the loving homes they deserve. And, the microchips are issued to our furry family members for good reason. Not wanting the shelters to even scan for them is a very sad decision, indeed. I take it you don't have any pets? If you do, how would you feel if they got lost and then ended up being killed because of your decision? Being a county employee, I know for a fact that the powers that be find money for their plans. Are you telling the citizens of California that this is the only money you can save? I find that hard to believe. If you pass this amendment, don't look forward to a second term in office. I'm highly disappointed in your judgement and thanking the good Lord that I don't live in California

He was going to change the amount of days a stray dog can be held to see if owners show up from 6 days to 3 days, but from the amount of attacks against that idea, he decided against it.

Another topic - They're trying to ban ear cropping in Cali!! My opinion on that: people will do it anyway.. it's better to have a vet do it professionally than people on the street using scissors.. :\

My god what a rediculas time 3 days to try and locate your lost dog, which could have roamed miles more than you expected.
I would sruggle to find mine in 3 day with the amont of posters etc to put up by then it would have been destroyed to save money.
I hope it does not go ahead.
