View Full Version : Cat hairs - ya gotta love 'em!
This morning I poured my coffee and right before I added the milk what did I see? An Andy hair floating on the top! LOL! If I had a black cat I probably would have never noticed it. :D I was glad that it wasn't hubby's mug because he drinks it black and would surely have noticed it and said something. He commented once that there are cat hairs in his car and my two have never even ridden in there! (Don't get me wrong, he loves these kitties but could do without their hairs! ) It made me think about hairs being at the scenes of crimes. With kitties they could never be accused because their hairs go lots of places that they never go! LOL! How about you? Anyone find a kitty hair in a strange place? I know this is probably a pointless thread but I thought maybe someone might have a funny story.

LOVE them!?
NO WAY!
Orion and Caeleigh's fur is all OVER my room. And they're only been here for a night. It's worse then dog fur because it's so fine and STICKS to you like glue! My bed is full of it, my rug is full of it.. and i'm sure it's all over the tile!
I've had several peices in my mouth, but I guess that's what i get for kissing them and stuffing my face into it. :p
I had my dad buy a cat brush just so I could brush them out a bit. They absolutely love it and get "elevator butts" when I brush them.:p :D
I have found dog fur in my food, and just picked it out and continued eating.... pretty sure i'll be finding some cat fur too.

How do my cats manage to get cat hairs in the ice cube trays  I've never been able to figure THAT one out :p

Pam this is a good thread.
Let's see. I have found Mystic's hair on my toothbrush. I could not figure out how it got there so of course I got myself a new toothbrush and what did I find her doing the next day....using the toothbrush as a chin rub. It must have felt pretty good to her to have used it to scratch her chin itch.
Abner's hair is EVERYWHERE. It's not that he sheds but his hair is really long and orange and itis easy to spot.
I just got done taking care of my mom's 8 cats while she was away. I brought clothes over to her house so I could stay there overnight and just leave for work each morning. Now I know what it is like to have cats and try to wear BLACK..you have to be really careful. SO I was VERY, VERY careful. I did not sit down or lean up against anything in the house when I had my balck pants on. Well, I get to work and I am FULL of cat hair.
I swear fur should get frequent flier miles. ;) :p :)
My office chair constantly has to be un-furred. It must come here on my clothes. I tell everyone that's how Chuck tells me he loves me. He sends me reminders of him everywhere I go! :)

I think the strangest place that I have found cat hairs is in the freezer. I have NO idea how they got there.

This thread is turning out to be fun after all! LOL! The day my son got married his best man and ushers met here before leaving for the church. They were all wearing black tuxes. I told them I hoped they didn't have to sit down! LOL! I did spread a towel over a kitchen chair for one of them, but I can't remember now who it was. Come to think of it, I bet even my towels have hairs on them. :p

If you can think of a spot then I've had hair there! I think the worst place that hair keeps showing up and causing me problems is in hubby's mouth! I don't know why he finds this so irritating! I've been slipping some hairball medicine in his dinner a couple of times a week so we can keep him cleaned out!:D :D http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif

I am with CCL - I can't think of a place that does NOT have cat hair. Espcially now with longhaired Dylan:rolleyes: We took all three to the vet this week and both hubby and I were furrballs ourselves when we got home. I know we eat plenty of it too. My funniest furr related story is that I always put vaseline on my lips at night and one night, without thinking, I saw Dylan belly up on my pillow so dove in for a big schmoozle and came up completely furr-lipped!!
I have also has furr-floss between my teeth - that's an odd one. Guess it would be really odd if the dentist found it!!

I had a massage appointment over lunch time earlier this week. As I was getting dressed for work something fell and rolled under the bed. After I retrieved it I was more liberally covered in fur than usual. Hours later the massuese asked if the cats had been particularly affectionate that morning.
I was going to bring up the office chair issue too, but see I'm not unique.
One of the quotes I found is Dad's favorite: Cat's hair is a remarkable adhesive. It sticks to anything but cat.
;) :p :D :D

I have to sate my favorite cat hair quote..."In my house, cat hair is a condiment!"

I find Allen and Pouncer hair everwhere! I bought a new tee shirt for my husband a few weeks ago. Upon opening the bag - as soon as I got home - I pulled it out to show him. He said, "gee, thats nice, it'll fit in with all of my other stuff!" I asked what he meant, and he said, "Its already got cat hairs on it!" And sure enough, it did. :p
He's always complaining about cat hair too. He says it has been clogging up his eyes at night lately (umm-hmmmm... did you ever think its related to summer alergies?) But I have to give him a point because last night I had a cat hair caught in the back of my throat and couldn't quite reach it. I coughed and hacked all night long over this little tickle that I KNEW was a cat hair. Do you think I admitted that one to hubby? NOooooooo.... I tell him "I'm apparently coming down with a summer cold, sweetheart!" :D ;)
Do you guys ever wake up with cat hair in your eyes? My ex used to be mad because he would have hair "balls" wound up in his gou-tee (sp?). I thought it was kinda funny. This happened even if I just changed the sheets. I think the hair just floats on the air!

Main weird place is the fridge and freezer. Ok so not that weird cause looks like it's a universal cat lover problem :)
I made the mistake of getting a couch with what's called mircofiber material (kind of like suede). The cat hair sticks to it and it doesn't come off very easy even with the sticky roll. Oh well, the couch is uniquely decorated, not hairy.

This thread is definitely for me. I wear a lot of black, so no matter how much I use the lint brush, I always have a ton of cat hair on myself. Of course, when I empty out the vacuum cleaner canister, there's always enough fur in there to make three new cats.
I just got a new cell phone about 2 months ago, and a few days after I got it, I noticed a cat hair behind the glass of the display. I cannot figure out how it got in there, and I have no way of getting it out. I just checked...yup, it's still there. :)

Yes we are still trying to figure out how Ripley's hair gets in the freezer. I guess it has some major floating and flying ability.
I can't think of anywhere that hasn't had cat hair here. In fact, before Jazz and Scout I would always make lots of cookies each Christmas and take plates of cookies to all my Dad's sister's and other friends and relatives. Now that I have three walking hair tornados I've stopped doing that because I'm afraid I will be giving out cat hair decorated cookies.

This reminds me of the comic strip Garfield. His owner Jon, can't eat until he finds the cat hair hidden in his food. There is always at least one!:D

I seem to always have a few cat hairs stuck on the end of my nose...I even found myself using my hand like Julie uses her paw to brush it off. They do rub off on us don't they?....literally.
My teenage son wears a lot of black band Tshirts and Julie just loves to dump hair on him when they play. He is constantly using the sticky roller to dehair himself. The funny thing is, I can wear black and pick her up to snuggle and pet and when she jumps down there might only be a couple of hairs. I think she knows he is fussy about it so she unloads as a payback for him teasing her when they play.

That picture from QueenScoopsalot is the reason we have plastic covers on our toothbrushes.:)

You take a plate freshly out of the dishwasher and there it is.
You sit in a restaurant and it is on the plate they set in front of you.
Aby hair is purrfect for any surface because the single hair has light and dark parts- so you can see it on black and white:D
I wonder how many I have eaten without noticing. Because I'm very shortsighted:D

The kitty I posted isn't one of mine, but I got a kick out of that picture! We had a coon hound mix who went to RB a while back. Max had very stiff bristly hair which impaled itself into things. I often walk barefoot around the house, and one day I swore I had a sliver of glass in my foot. I bent, twisted, wrenched my foot around, and after two days of being annoyed, found one of Max's hairs stuck in my foot! Cat hair I don't notice much anymore...if you can't beat it, eat it! :D  :D
