Hey, all. I took Luli to the vet yesterday because I noticed a tumor on her (it was below her neck, above her leg). She has stitches now and is doing wonderfully. I paid extra to have a test done to see what the tumor was, but, the technician said she thought it was a mammary tumor. Not sure if I said that right. But, I should find out in a few days what it was exactly. I'll try to get a photo of her with her stitches, although I'm still unable to get the pictures online. Eventually I will, and, you will be bombarded with a back log of pictures of Luli and her pals, Lock and Finn! But, anyway, just wanted to share our story with you. Hopefully, the tumor isn't a recurring one. She is getting older, unfortunately. :( She did well at the vet's though, and, didn't act as though she was bothered by the sutures at all. She's a good girl. Alright, that's all.....

Oh, poor Luli. How old is she? It's good that she has such a great owner to take care of her though. Get well soon Luli!

Hey, thanks. :) About the great owner part. She's my little baby. I'm broke now, but, she's alright, so, I'll be fine. Just won't be able to pay my car payment right now. Ha. I'm not sure exactly how old she is, but, I'm guessing about 2 and a half. So, she's getting up there, but, she really does look great. And, doesn't show any signs of aging, really. The tumor has been the first thing I've seen. She's not slowing down or acting strange or being lethargic or having joint problems or anything. She's a cool rat. :) The removal itself wasn't that expensive ($50), but, there's the visit price, the drugs used, and, I also paid for a test to be done to see what the tumor was. Not totally necessary, but, I'll feel better knowing. I'll update this thread when I hear from the vet.

You are a really great rattie mom. I'm glad Luli looks so good after she got her stitches :)

Yeah, she didn't look different at all, except for the suture area. And, that doesn't look bruised or anything. I don't know what I was expecting, but, she's just so tiny! I didn't expect it to go so well. As long as the camera I have at my disposal still has some battery life, I'll take a picture tonight when I get home. I can get it on the computer, just not on the internet, yet. But, at least I'll have the picture. :)

Heal quickly, sweet Luli! Paws and fingers crossed that that nasty tumor stays away! Gentle hugs to the brave patient:) So glad you're home with the family:D

Thanks for all the well wishes.....I tried to get a couple of pics of her last night, but, the camera only lasted a couple seconds, and, she squirms so much, I don't think I got anything good. I'll try to get a new battery soon. Again, though, thanks for thinking of my girl. :) She was running around on her wheel last night, so, she's still active!

I got a message from my vet today that the results were in from Luli's tumor. It was a benign mammary tumor (there was more to it, something with fibro...), and, they had gotten all of the tumor. So, it's good news for my Luli girl! :)

Guster, it so good to hear some good news about that sweet Luli, she is just to cute to have to be sick! I'm sorry about your car payment, but this shows what a wonderful pet owner you are!
Anyway, I'm happy to hear that is was not a cancer, soooo happy!

Great, keep trying to get some pictures of Luli, I really think she is so cute. There is just something about a hairless rat, that make them just cute as can be!

Thanks, Willie. I know what you mean, I've always thought they were so cute. Some people don't see it at all, but, that's ok! To each their own. I get lots of joy from my little rattie girl. :)

I am glad to hear she is doing well. :) One of my bucks has a tumor now, but it's so small I am not going to remove it unless it starts growing. I love your hairless girl, obviously because she has an uncanny resemblence to my own hairless girl. :D

Yay, I'm glad to hear it was a benign tumor, and that she's doing well. I hope Luli gets all better soon!

It looks as if the stitches are dissolving, so, I'm guessing I won't have to take her in for removal. She is healing really well! :)
