on Friday Jordan came, and slept over... Saturday morning I looked into Rosies and Lily's cage and Rosie was just laying there... I touched her and she was ice cold.. I thought she was dead. But then she took a breath.. We picked her up and held her in our hands for like an hour, trying to warm her with body heat... poor thing.. then she started to move.. My mom came into my room and put Rosie up her shirt to nuzzle in her bussum.. It seemed to work because Rosie started to walk a bit.. We fed her Baby food and water for about the next 2 hours streight.. she was so skinny. I dont know what happened...

Now she is sitting in a tiny cage with the heating pad under it, she is on a diet of baby food stue and fruits to fatten her up.. She also has a water bottle..
She is doing way better today though.. I think she has some sort of genetic problem, she is so tiny, she is about the size of an 8 week old baby rat, and she is 8 months old... She is also VERY skinny and sooo small..... :(:(

she is walking and climbing her cage bars now.. but I dont think she is very healthy :(.. She might even have to be put down.. I feel really badly for her and I dont want her to suffer.... :( :( I really dont think she will last if I put her back in her old cage with Lily.. Lily doesnt keep her warm enough, and yeah it just seems really difficult right now...

Last night I found her in her cage laying on her side, she was ice cold again... :(..

I warmed her up and she started to slowly come back to life... I dont get this... She has the heating pad under her cage and everything, Why isnt she staying warm, she has a bunch of towels and toilet paper in with her too... :(:(
This is so sad, I feel like I can do anything to help her :(

Can you call the vet for advice? I hope Rosie will be ok. We will keep her in our prayers.

Possibly poor blood circulation or anemia? I really know nothing about rats at all so I don't even know what would be a good diet for them. You would know that better. What form do they get protein from? I would try giving her extra protein or iron....or consult a vet?

there is nopthing the vet can do, he said it is most likely a genetic prob that was passed from his mother or father.. He said that most petstores get rats from bad breeders, and sell them, even if the parents are not healthy

Poor, dear Rosie:( I'm so sorry Jynelle that the vet couldn't help her. You're certainly being a great mom, doing all that you can. One of my guinea pig's name is Rosie...I'll bet your Rosie is a sweetheart too. I'm hoping for a miracle for you little rattie girl Rosie. {{{HUGS}}}

Poor little Rosie. I'm glad to hear she's better today. It's so terrible when you know there is nothing you can do for them.
