I've been noticing lately that Nicki has been reluctant to jump on the bed the way she used to and when she sits by the French Doors that she's slower to get up. It seems as if my old girl is getting arthritic. Is there anything I can do to help her?
She's still a puppy at heart, so it pains me to see her try to jump up knowing it s a struggle for her.

How old is she? Duke is 11 but he still jumps good. Could you get a set of stairs or something that would lead up to the bed? I know they make the stairs for pickups. You could use them for the bed instead. Other than that, I don't know.
aww.poor thing.
i agree with dukedogsmom. a set of smal stairs or a ramp for her would help. also maybe you could get her some joint/arthritus meds or chews. asking your vet would be the best way t find out what you could do.:D

I know how it is. Angus is arthritic and sometimes doesn't get around too well and as for jumping, that is just out of the question for him.
We've been giving him Liquid Health (http://www.dogequipment.com/dog_supplies/LH-K-9_Liquid_Health_Glucosamine.htm) and it's worked wonders for him. And it really works as good as they say it does!
