At the shelter where I volunteer, there is the sweetest dog I am trying to help find a home. His name is Lizard and he's a doll. His human went into a nursing home and there was no one to keep him. Given his size, you wouldn't think he is the gentlest creature alive but he is. He wasn't eating at the shelter so the gal I work with on Monday and I took him into the kitchen where we prepare the meals for the dogs and hand fed him. Since that seemed to work, all the volunteers let him eat his meals there and he doesn't need to be hand fed anymore.

This is a no kill shelter so he's in no danger of being PTS, but he's so lonely. I'd take him home, but I can't take on any more. :(

If you know of anyone in this area, please have them check him out.

He's a beautiful older dog. 9 years young. I do hope he finds
someone special to love & care for him. Someone to share his later years.:(

Great News!!!

Just heard last night at the shelter where I volunteer that Lizard and Yager (a black lab with 3 legs-real sweetie) are being adopted by a family with a young daughter. Evidently the daughter loved Yager and when they said they wanted to see others before they made up their mind, they were shown Lizard. Daughter really wanted Yager and Mom/Dad really wanted Lizard - so they both got adopted. They live on 3 acres and it's fenced so it will be a great place for them. Shelter supervisor said they were nice people with all the right qualifications and these guys needed a great home - it was a match made in heaven.

YEAH!!!!!

:D :D
